Garlic is amazing. Our town loves it so much we have a Garlic Festival. About 4000 people attend and garlic growers all over MN come to it.

China bleaches their garlic to make them look better. Say no to the cheap garlic and to the garlic with no country of origin listed, it's from there. My grocery store has Spain garlic that's nice and fat. Also Canadian garlic, but it's often a little anemic.
