If you had to qualify potential parents before they had kids, the human race would eventually die....and pretty quickly.

There are a shit ton of bad parents out there or those who don't deserve to be parents.

It's similar to being born with a physical or mental disability imo.

some people think serial killers are likely genetically predisposed. I really don't know, probably a combo of factors. Others have said people who do what we'd call evil (Richard Ramirez, Charles Whitman) have some sort of brain issue. There is also mental illness. In my area there was a black guy who went around shooting at people for an entire day, of course, once he's caught everyone is posting about how violent black people are, but the truth was, he was having a paranoid episode. He thought people were following him for real, he even went to a police station to report that people were coming after him and they told him to leave. Some people are just nuts.

yup, and there are parents who aren't even bad, just ill equipped to deal with kids or just in a fucked up area where the kids grow up to join the crowd and be little pieces of shit because of peer pressure.

This is a tough one. I think people are born very selfish and self serving. Most people will do whenever they think is best for themselves if there are no laws in place.

I think some people may be mentally ill for sure and turn to despicable acts.

I think we're socialized to be selfish in our society, I don't think humans are born that way necessarily. We are a selfcentered and selfish culture with every person fighting and thrashing about trying to get their ways. I don't think all societies, present or past have been like that.

Imagine thinking about how sorry some people are when they get caught for doing horrible shit and how they would act if they were suddenly freed for no reason. They would probably laugh.

Its really EQ thats the defining element here between good and bad. Ability to control Impulsivity.

yup, my brother is 400 pounds, after our dad died, when we were kids, he dealt with it by eating too much and never stopped, that's bad enough but he was allowed to lay around all the time too. He's honestly lucky to still be alive, I talked to him a couple nights ago about him dying soon and how that needs to be handled.

there was some speculation that he was a product of inbreeding too. I think his grandpa and mom had him but I'd have to check the rumor.

Also, as far as innate evil, Ted was capable of doing good, he saved a drowning child once and the lady who wrote one of the definitve Bundy bios used to work with him at a crisis clinic and it took her a long time before she believed he was a killer. Ted would actually talk people out of killing themselves, and he'd walk Ann Rule to her car at night. People aren't that simple.

I recently watched a movie named “Nefarious” it’s possessed type of film where a fallen angel possess a man and turns him into a serial killer. What stood out to is that part of a dialogue in the movie is about
how the most simple act of negativity like stealing something minuscule as a child can manifest a soul into a downward spiral where they’re lost. I believe it’s all experience and how a young mins interprets bad va good.

Edit: It's a Michael Bay documentary about a serial killer and his murderous brother. The other brother thinks the serial killer's screwed up head is because he was pulled out at birth by forceps and it literally fucked his head up.
