What Trump is trying to do is cause Canada such economic harm in the hopes the Canadian people would see as the only way out, and for their own return to prosperity, becoming a US State.

Actually if you read some of the writings of the Project 2025 authors they speak about not just 'breaking gov't' and deliberately trying to 'terrorize government workers' but also about breaking the American economy and the American country. They also talk about shattering NATO and all US alliances.

They operate from a core foundational belief that the current American system is irredeemable broken and that they only have a few short years before demographic shifts would deny them the power to fix it.

And the way they believe they have to fix it, is by destroying everything literally so that a 'strong man' can take control with no checks and balances backed by the military and impose a new order on the US.

They do not believe it can be accomplished with in the current systems.

Do i think Trump is on board all that? No. He would like to break it to some extent and loves the idea of being a strong man leader, but they are mostly manipulating him now by speaking to his worst impulses, and telling them these things are possible and can be done and playing to his ego.

I just watched a YouTube vid on his interview with Laura Ingraham, he went off on a 4 minute rant about Canada and how it's going to be the 51st state, even Ingraham had to fact check him half a dozen times, the look on her face was all " fuck, he really is crazy, what the fuck have we done?"
