Do ya'll think the Colby/Jorge beef is fake?--IF so why??

It's absurd to say that they're still friends and the whole thing is fake.

They both got kicked out ATT (Jorge temporarily, Colby permanently), there's stories from those at ATT about them having to be separated, their coaches had to schedule training sessions at different times so they didn't cross paths. Look at the comments from all the fighters and coaches from ATT on the situation.

So it's not just the media interviews that they've had to fake, it's every interaction they had in the gym dating back years and lying to all their friends and coaches about the situation.

Now, since they've fallen out are they purposely hyping it up in the media for attention? Sure. But the idea that they're still best friends and they've fabricated the whole thing might just be the dumbest conspiracy theory I've ever heard.

After watching all 3 Brett Okamoto interviews with Jorge, Colby and Dan Lambert, the stories match up. It would be extremely hard to get multiple people to keep the stories straight. To me it seemed like 3 different sides of the same story, but Dan obviously being the more neutral party.

At the end of the day, it all seems like a giant misunderstanding where both sides are to blame.

You are correct, it is a good number, considering it was the first PPV that had a live crowd due to Covid. Those people in the crowd could have increased the PPV buys if they watched it at home instead.

I'm not exactly a Colby fan by any means but come on, you gotta admit that's just straight up disingenuous.

Sure he's had some snoozers (esp. depending on your stylistic preference) but he definitely doesn't just lay on people and 'hug' them.

There's not a whole lot of fighters out there that can take Demian Maia down, stay in his guard the whole time and not play it safe at any point. Dude was badly hammering Maia up and made him look helpless off of his back. Colby's scrambling ability is also probably some of the absolute best I've seen in the entire history of the sport.

But we've seen plenty of champions with similar attributes. Im not even a Colby fan but he's def a fighter. Went to war with Usman even after he got his jaw busted. Got finished but never gave up. As a fan of fighting, i gotta respect that. He basically went down swinging.

Getting his ass beat and continuing to exercise through a broken jaw is kind of my point of him being a competitor first and not a fighter. He didn't change his strategy or go for broke whatsoever, just kept doing his same thing he does every single fight ... that is just highlighting my point not rebutting it.

I'm rooting for Jorge cause I love fighting over wrestling. To be fair to Colby though, it's mixed martial arts and even as Jorge says in a recent interview (the one with Max Kellerman) he knows he must spend 60-70% of his training time wrestling. Also while I agree with you that he may not be champ material he's a helluva good mixed martial artist and his striking has improved over the years.

Mixed Martial Man Hugging is definitely effective, can't argue that.

if its not staged they are still doing what they planned to do together all along.
