Wonderboy explodes inside with angles and darts out, problem is he's exploding into a nuclear bomb with Tyron.
Where as Rory has has a stiff jab with a solid base it gave Tyron much more issues.
Thompson lacks a jab for that reason Tyron will give him problems, guys like masvidal or Rory will give Tyron problems

Wonderboy is a great fighter, but Woodley has insane athleticism that has enabled him to execute a conservative strategy that no one has been able to beat since he's become champ. I just wish Tyron was less whiny, but maybe he's trying to be a heel.

If they fought under K1 rules.....Wonderboy would get KTFO.

Tyron showed to have way better boxing....way better....and was able to close the distance and explode way better.


Wonderboy boxing is lacking, he does you kicks and alot of karate shit, but in k1......That isn't going to be enough to stop Tyron who's boxing and reflexes are much better than wonderboy.


So yes, Tyron is a better striker even under k1 rules.


BTW like I said before...This is MMA striking......Wonderboy whole striking is set up for MMA, this is why he is very good at keep distance and preventing takedowns...He is already use to this form of striking, so it's not like he is a K1 guy who just transition..If that were the case, I would understand, a Striker needs to adjust to the distance in MMA etc.....he has been doing MMA for a while now.

and fighters also age and improve...You don't seem to understand that the 2 years between those fights, could've made a big difference between fighters.

Tyron striking improved a shitload.....Rory IMO became worse, he was coming off the beating of Robbie Lawler when he fought Wonderboy.


Seems like you don't understand that Age/Time/etc have an effect.

Wonderboy is a karate guy...In a K1 match, Woodley superior boxing/explosiveness/closing the distance would lead to Wonderboy going to the canvas.


Wonderboy has kicks but his boxing is not that good...His karate style of lighting shoot in striking, then get out of range, wouldn't work well in K1 rules IMO....specially with a superior boxer.
