Do people get some sense of moral superiority when they go against the "that was a boring fight" crowd?

The “boring fight by Kamzat” case is a special one because it involves a Caucasus muslime who delivered a boring fight. As a result, the whole Bathtubber brigade made it their main mission to reject this narrative — something that wouldn’t usually happen with fighters from other religious backgrounds — and to convince everyone that it wasn’t boring. Essentially, they refuse to accept that their guys can have boring or close fights, that their fighters can lose decisively, and that, in general, their fighters are just normal people, not physical or moral superhumans. That’s why this topic is still circulating on the Dawg, whereas discussions like this normally fade away after 3–5 business days.

Yeah they do. It shows how stupid and vain we are as a society where even an opinion on a fight becomes an opportunity to try to make oneself appear better than the next guy. It's not I liked it, and you didn't, and that's fine....it's always well you never trained so I get why you don't like it, or you don't appreciate high level competition like I do, or you don't understand the complexity of what's going on. It's typical cunt behavior of i'm better than you.
Same wanky behaviour going on with the bellend who started this thread basically

Thread 'Exposing the Grift: Go Woke Go Broke' https://forums.sherdog.com/threads/exposing-the-grift-go-woke-go-broke.4341018/

Wanting to believe he's better than average Joe when actually he's just an unlikable cock and all those people who wants to pretend to look down on are far more likeable than he is

I have no moral superiority. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. No big deal.

It's funny how some people get passes when fighters beat their opponents in their weak areas and those who don't. Personally I find it wild how easy Khamzat takes down people, it's sort of like how I felt watching Khabib. Everyone knows the takedown is coming, yet they are helpless from stopping it.

I'll watch wrestling matches and appreciate control, not everyone has to be me. I don't think it's Khamzat's most exciting fight, but I do think it's fun to watch by me to see how they handle it. Definitely some people think that if you only appreciate bar brawls, then why watch mma when there's BKFC and power slap. But to me it's different watching Khamzat at the highest level taking down DDP at MW like butter, than lets Shevchenko who's mainly a striker, wrestling Grasso for 5 rounds, which I find boring. So I understand it.

I don't think I'm better. I just legitimately didn't think it was that boring of a fight. When there's enough anticipation it can override some of the letdown. If that were an early prelim fight then yeah forget about it. I've said in other threads though I feel like there's nuance between boring and not-entertaining. I think this fight was not-entertaining.

Some of us have the minds of nikola Tesla. Others like the OP, the mind of a cavemen. AND THATS OK

cavemen need love too!

The difference here is that no one is going to try to tell you that a stand-up fight with 5000 feints and 10 significant strikes was a brilliant technical performance and if you don't like it, you're casual and go watch collegiate man-hugging

It's either a sport or a fistfight, depending on which narrative a fan is trying to create. i just find the over the top bellyaching about this specific fight to be a bit bizarre, as if safe, boring title fights or wrestlers smothering non-wrestlers aren't a thing. I don't think people are casuals for not liking this shit, but it's the over the top reaction that made them sound like casuals in this instance.

Let's just say what this was, a combo of Dricus lovers getting smushed in the same moment that Khamzat hate got amplified, which made for a particularly distasteful high pitched screech. For people who are just fans of the sport and the competition and aren't into mma to wave pom poms for fighters, the fanboy tantrums are annoying as fuck to listen to.

That is pretty much the way every sport is; that's not an MMA thing. Not every fight or game is going to be wildly entertaining.

NFL purists say the same thing- those 10-7 defensive struggles are "thrillers," and we should appreciate great defense. YYYYYAAAAWWWWWNNNNN

I think "go watch boxing" isn't usually a response to "not an exciting fight," but, rather, when they want to change MMA rules and the sport, itself, to basically handicap wrestling in favor of striking.

There have been plenty of fights with two pure strikers standing there, feinting non-stop to try and get the other striker/counterstriker to make the first move, and no punches get thrown. People forget the times Anderson Silva was booed in the ring because he went against an opponent who's main strategy was not to initiate but to wait on him. Machida and Belfort were being lustily booed by the crowd as Machida unleashed his epic KO front kick. You don't see grappling advocates claiming that the rules need to change to remove striking from the equation when that happens.
In regards to changing the rules, you do realize many rules are in place that offer outright protection to wrestlers?

It´s almost impossible to bore me with a fight. Dricus Khamzat was nerve wrecking. I was so scared for Dricus. He got crucifixed. I was scared he is gonna get KOd. The difference is I know how it all feels. I trained MMA and grappling too. Mostly boxing and striking. It´s different when you train, especially recently. If I didn´t train fighting for 2 years I get bored fast and just wanna see a KO.

2) DDP's wrestling was cheeks
ok how did everyone else do in the wrestling vs Khamzat ?

How much damage was Khamazat able to land with 90% control time ?

How long did the fight last ?

Was Dricus ever close to tapping ?

3-4 Crucifixes, stuck. No finish. Not cut. Just small shots taken. I never seen that. Dricus is

Although it was pretty much a blah contest and I was rooting for Dricus to win, I still gave props to Khamzat for doing what he needed to do, and also acknowledged a shared responsibility in the fights uneventfulness due to DDP having a shit game plan and no answer for what Chimaev was doing. So even though the fight itself didn't deliver fireworks, I am not going to just shit on Khamzat for being a wet blanket. Part of that is due to his opponent being clueless on how to counter what he was doing.
Also this is a title fight and DDP is dangerous till the last bell. People may not realize this, but khamzat prob wanted to finish but couldn't and didn't want to take risks to really push for it. It's not like he didn't want to finish but also didn't want to risk losing the fight. Anyway if he lost by fighting aggressively, the same haters would say he was stupid. So he did what he had to do

i missed the prelims but this was one of the most boring cards I have seen and I have seen hundreds.

So 3 finishes in 5 fights with two of them being back to back KO of the year contenders is the most boring card ever?

Difference is khabib was nasty and went hard for the finish

Khamzat played safe

You are making a false equivalence
