Do Diaz Fans Actually Think he'll Beat GSP?

I'm just curious, do fans of Diaz actually believe he has a shot against GSP? There is a difference between being a fan and hoping he will win, and actually thinking he will win.

I hoped the Tigers would win the WS last year but I knew they were going to get their asses handed to them after the first game when they looked like crap.

Is it like this for Diaz fans, or do you actually think he has a shot?
 
Of course he has a chance. But I think GSP wins this fight 7-8 times out of 10.
 
i'm not a "fan" of either guy, but i think diaz has a chance. if he manages to string together a couple of combinations, who knows how gsp might react? he could shoot for a reckless td and get caught in a submission. is that the most likely scenario? no, but it's a definite possibility.

i may have thought this way until i saw Gsp eat that kick to the head from Condit.
i dont think diaz can mount any sort of sustainable attack that will rattle gsp.
 
yes they do and thats part of what makes this fight so interesting. I hope Nick also believes he has a chance!

Always interesting to see how the scrap pack fanboys react when fed a large dose of reality...they have a vivid imagination :icon_lol:
 
I'm a fan of Diaz, realistically I think GSP will win because he's a better technical fighter and gameplans better than anyone in the business imo. That said I think Nick can bring the fight to GSP and make it a lot more interesting than some of GSP's previous fights (I did find Condit vs. GSP entertaining). If Nick can get under his skin, which he seems to have done,then I think GSP might brawl a little bit and at that point it really is anyone's fight.
 
i dont think nick has much chance at all.
it'll be very similar to bendo-nate fight.
just cant imagine anything else happening in this fight.

This sums up my toughts pretty well.
 
I am a fan of nick diaz, I used to be a big georges fan... until he started fighting so safe all the time.

I think nick diaz has a chance of.. like bolsh said, he may string together a nice combo and hurt gsp, drown him in punches.. or.. gsp likes the take down alot and nick is pretty good off his back.. and I believe nick has said they've been coming up with a game plan for gsp's stalling tactics.. so I do give him a chance here... however; I do think it's likely that gsp will have some very good game plan that will make it hard for nick to do the stuff he wants to, gsp will also probably execute his game plan to a tee.. and it is quite likely we see another 5 round decision win for georges.

but diaz does have two tools that present risks for george.. better boxing and good jiujitsu, we saw george wanted nothing to do with shields when it went to the ground.
 
He has a chance.
But I don't think its gon happen.
 
i think he has a chance, but the chances are low since he has to submit or ko gsp, and i dont really see this happening. and judges arent diaz fans, ask condit, he run 50 miles in that fight and won :D
 
nah i'm diaz fan and he'll lose this fight.

GSP is better at every aspect of MMA expect BJJ.

GSP is stronger has equal cardio,better kicks,takedowns,takedown defense and i think his boxing is actually better than Diaz.

Nick Diaz is a lot stronger than he looks. I dont think he would get manhandled like Nate probably would. Nick has a shot, but I still think GSP will win. I will love to see a Diaz vs Condit II after this fight.
 
I have to admit most Diaz fans have acknowledged they do not think he will be Georges.
 
Put GSP and Nick in a fight in an alley somewhere, to the death, and you know who will walk out of that alley.


Put them in a cage with rules and judges and a time limit, and GSP will decision him.

This. He poses a lot of dangers. Especially his BJJ will make it interesting. GSP is a heavy favorite but Nick will not stop.
 
This is how the fight will go..

The ref will say "lets get it on"

Then Diaz takes down George but doesn't really do much on top through out the entire round, but wins it.

The next four rounds will go exactly like this.

The judges will give the unanimous decision to Diaz for controlling his opponent.

heres a better question:
will DIAZ throw a fit and retire again after he loses.
or how about:
does diaz piss hot again and get suspended.
or what about: does diaz even show up for the fight, or does the fight get called off because diaz lacks the professionalism required to meet his appointments and he pisses dana off.
