Do any UFC fighters wear contacts?

I remember junior dos santos wearing contacts in the build up to a fight and saying he doesn't wear them during the fight. Must be really annoying to not be able to see perfectly

Your Hans have gercuov until near blindness

Well one example:

Just days after Case agreed to fight Joe Ellenberger at UFC Fight Night 44 in June, he failed a pre-fight eye test and was pulled from the fight. The UFC then paid for him to have LASIK eye surgery and he is now good to go.

Lasik involves cutting a flap in the eye, which never heals properly (ever). You definitely wouldn't get Lasik if you do contact sports, because an impact to the eye could tear the flap off and you'd be fucked for life.

He probably got PRK which is an older and cruder type. But doesn't have same flap danger.

I automatically dislike people with glasses who are younger than 40. Always been that way. Can't really describe why.

I want lasik bad.

There's your solution buddy. All you gotta do is, in Dana's words, "be a fucking fighter" and the UFC will pay for your Lasik.

If I were a fighter and my vision was that bad I would definitely opt for Lasik. But being a normal civilian I'd probably prefer glasses over contacts or Lasik. I like the thought of being able to radically change up your look just by buying a new pair of frames. Unfortunately (or fortunately) for me, my vision is perfectly fine. So I can't wear glasses without looking like a poser. So I don't.

Surely some do... Fuck, i'm legally blind without mine. If I was fighter i'd be screwed without them, haha.

I've wanted to take an amateur kickboxing fight for a few years now but the only thing holding me back is that I'd need contacts for it and it's so damned weird for me to slowly aim my finger in towards my eye to put them in. I'm legally blind without them though too and I spar without my glasses lol. I do OK but damn it it'd be nice if there weren't two or three shapes for me to fight lol... I think it's pretty impressive that I've never been knocked the fuck out, at least not yet.

Hahaha, knock on wood :D

Awww GTFO. My shit is literally twice as strong as yours. You're near sighted though. I'm far sighted.

I'm -5.75 I think, and I feel blind when I don't have my contacts in. Funny thing is in the last two months I have scratched my cornea like three times using old contacts. Have never been so happy in my life to have new ones come in last week. One eye is still a little blurry from the last scratch. Eyes are one thing not to fuck with.

Derek Brunson was talking about how the reason he pulled out of the Mousasi fight was that he had gotten Lasik a while ago and started getting very weirdly blurred vision during his training camp and he's just hoping it clears up so he can start training again and take a fight against a contender.

Karo did.

I wear contacts and I've been in fist fights where I thought my contact was knocked out but it was actually behind my eye and popped out all dried up like a week later.

You should've tagged that NSFW, WTF

Up until this year, they were banned.
The ABC unbanned them for boxing, MMA will follow soon.

It was an insurance issue.

Yeh far sighted is supposed to mean you're supposed to see better far away but I can't see shit far or close. I have a friend who is -1.25 and she whines about how blind she is. I want to slap her.
I can see perfectly. Nyah nyah

Whats your prescription? I got an eye infection once, I was a forklift lift operator at the time and I had to drive with one eye for a week. It's was a motherfucker, but they wanted to put me back out on the production floor sweating my ass off like a slave so I played it off like I could see fine. It was quite dangerous in retrospect.

I drive with one eye all the time (well I don't, but it's happened 5+ times). It's fine, just pretend you are lela from Futurama with one eye.

Viktor Pesta in UFC does. I remember when it fell out in his fight
