Do any UFC fighters wear contacts?

Contacts are peds. But really, basketball goggles should be allowed.

Karo did.

I wear contacts and I've been in fist fights where I thought my contact was knocked out but it was actually behind my eye and popped out all dried up like a week later.

Ugh, man. How did it feel when the contact was behind your eyeball? That stuff scares me.

I remember Roxy Modafferi talking about her trouble with contacts in her fight and how some commissions said she couldn't wear them so her opponent ended up being a colorful blob instead of a fighter.

Just wondering if any fighter wears contact lenses?

If they do, what happens if one falls out in the middle of the fight?

Seems like the perfect alilbi for a break...Can anyone clarify the rule on this issue?

Athletic commission will not allow one to fight with contacts on.. At least in Nv and Ca, where I have fought thus far.

Whats your prescription? I got an eye infection once, I was a forklift lift operator at the time and I had to drive with one eye for a week. It's was a motherfucker, but they wanted to put me back out on the production floor sweating my ass off like a slave so I played it off like I could see fine. It was quite dangerous in retrospect.

I've driven an 18-wheeler with an 80,000 lb load with one contact. Not my best idea.

I'm -5.75 I think, and I feel blind when I don't have my contacts in. Funny thing is in the last two months I have scratched my cornea like three times using old contacts. Have never been so happy in my life to have new ones come in last week. One eye is still a little blurry from the last scratch. Eyes are one thing not to fuck with.

I only take one contact out at a time at night because without both I'm fucked. I rotate them. Also I put my contact case in the refrigerator at night. Pro tip. I've been wearing contacts since the Clinton administration.

I've wanted to take an amateur kickboxing fight for a few years now but the only thing holding me back is that I'd need contacts for it and it's so damned weird for me to slowly aim my finger in towards my eye to put them in. I'm legally blind without them though too and I spar without my glasses lol. I do OK but damn it it'd be nice if there weren't two or three shapes for me to fight lol... I think it's pretty impressive that I've never been knocked the fuck out, at least not yet.
Contacts are awkward to put in the first few times. It gets easier.

This keeps being the top thread in the heavies. You'd think the UFC wasn't being sold, GSP and Brock weren't coming back, and UFC 200 wasn't happening.

My father has been a commercial truck drive for 30 years. That's why I never pursued that career.

I hope so man. It's something I gotta do one way or another because contacts are something I need to have for a lot of reasons.

Yeh far sighted is supposed to mean you're supposed to see better far away but I can't see shit far or close. I have a friend who is -1.25 and she whines about how blind she is. I want to slap her.

I'm -1.25. Some mornings, I won't know if I'd put them in or not as my vision is perfectly fine for inside the confines of my apartment, and I'll have to go look in the mirror to see if I did or didn't put it in in the morning. The only time I notice my vision isn't fine is when trying to read a far away road sign. It stays blurry until I get much closer

Mine are 14.0D 8.4BC, but that's really irrelevant. The kicker is +7.5. I've never met anyone with a prescription that strong. My good friend is -5.0 and he's blind as fuck. I'm really blind

I've had them as high as +8.0 in the past.

I'm -6.0 and yeah, can't see shit without them. My cousin is either -11.0 or -12.0, can't remember which. Absolutely insane either way. Knowing how bad -6.0 is....I can't even imagine what he must be seeing (or not seeing) without them.

Yeh she can she see just likes to bitch. She's super hot though. I'm drunk so I'll show you a pic she's going to be mad ass hell if she find out but I love my Sherbros

Bunch of blind motherfuckers in this thread, lol :)

Thankfully my eyesight's perfect, I can see for miles and don't need glasses/contacts.

I believe Rory MacDonald wears contacts?

Surely some do... Fuck, i'm legally blind without mine. If I was fighter i'd be screwed without them, haha.
i feel your pain. I've had glasses since I was two and got contacts in 5th grade. I cannot see shit without them. I wrestled with them in but if I lost one during an mma fight I'd be fucked. Big difference in getting pinned and getting your head knocked off lol

With good reason. Though not to bash the dead, but this was a horribly foolish thing to do. There's a reason they clean the mats constantly. I can't imagine a ring or cage being any cleaner.

"“There was a kid that wrestled for Pittsburgh, I’ll never forget him. He was a tough 197 pounder, a returning All American. He was gonna be coming back the same year I was gonna be a senior, and I thought ‘F*ck, I’m gonna have to wrestle this kid.’ Well, in a freestyle match, he dropped his contact lense out of his eye. It hit the mat, and he picked it up, licked it, and put it back in his eye. A week and a half later, he died from staph infection. It started in his eye and went straight back through his brain. Staph infections are not to be joked with. I’ve had staph infections where I’ve had to get antibiotic IVs. Once you get antibiotic IVs, trying to work out afterward, is a joke, because you’ll gas. It’ll kill you. I had it on my face before. It was painful, and it paralyzed part of my face. It looked like I had Bell’s Palsy. I looked like Two Face. I couldn’t chew. I could barely blink. I had a big hole in my face that was oozing pus. I’d never wish that on anybody.”"

Damn -11.0. I'm +7.5 and I've never met anyone with a stronger prescription.

Yeah, -11.0 is horrible. I've never met anyone besides him with eyes that bad. My whole family has terrible eyesight. Both my brothers wear about the same prescription as me also.
