Do any UFC fighters wear contacts?

I remember sparring someone who had contacts on; kept knocking them out even in light sparring.

So he'd be like, "whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa!" then I'd be like, "bitch-ass!" in my head, though.

iirc, even those with lasik wouldn't get approved to fight, as the process weakens the outer flap of the eye, making it far more likely to tear. fighters had to get PRK (which bas rutten did).

fighting with contacts in is downright retarded.

Mine are 14.0D 8.4BC, but that's really irrelevant. The kicker is +7.5. I've never met anyone with a prescription that strong. My good friend is -5.0 and he's blind as fuck. I'm really blind

I've had them as high as +8.0 in the past.

Holy shit bro im -2.0 and cant see shit without them

Jon madsen did against vemola. Took them out in between rounds

Well hot damn, lolol :p

Yeah, I can't see shit past like two inches or so. It's all a blur... :(

Yeh far sighted is supposed to mean you're supposed to see better far away but I can't see shit far or close. I have a friend who is -1.25 and she whines about how blind she is. I want to slap her.

Yeh I can't function without corrective lenses. I can see well enough to not walk into walls. I wouldn't try to walk down a sidewalk or something like that.

Anthony Johnson lost a contact while fighting Rich Clementi - the ref took it and threw it out

I doubt any fighters vision is so bad without them that they cant fight. Fighting is almost all peripheral vision anyway. Youre never needing to see fine details or anything. You dont need crystal clear vision to fight and do well.

@Hans Gercmiov @Homeless Infant im onlyt 1.5/1.75

but that might be different in the uk... i can see the tv, but cant read subtitles without contacts in or glasses on

I dont think i would compete with contacts in, its just a hassle, as long as you can see the opponent, contact getting stuck somewhere a distraction you dont need

I remeber seeing Kongo wear glasses in his interviews back a couple years ago.

You can get some contacts (ortho-k) which you wear overnight, they mould the shape of your cornea to what it should be. When you take them out, the re-shaping effect lasts for a few hours or most of the day. That's what fighters with glasses probably use, athletes in general too. Laser surgery is very risky.

Nah it's the same. Even diameter and base curve are metric measurements.

Karo did.

I wear contacts and I've been in fist fights where I thought my contact was knocked out but it was actually behind my eye and popped out all dried up like a week later.

Yeah... fuck that. I'd sooner get Lasik. Not fucking around with anything slipping around behind my eyeballs.
