Point me to a specific market where this caused a shortage of housing stock. You know nothing of the housing shortage if you think it's because of illegal immigration, as opposed to homeowners reducing the supply of housing going back decades.

Hint: Immigration tends to improve the housing market as a whole. Where do you think the labor that drives down the cost of building homes comes from? Not to mention immigrants more effficiently use housing stock (multifamily/multigenerational households).

I'm quite open to having my mind changed. You're making a claim that illegal immigration is a primary cause of the housing shortage. So put up your evidence. What markets are we seeing cler evidence of this? Does illegal immigration levels correlate to housing shortages and increases in home prices?

Or even better yet, why are housing costs inversely correlated with immigration in California? The highest housing prices are in regions with the lowest demand for illegal immigrants, while the areas of California with the highest levels of illegal immigrant workers have lower housing prices?

Are you talking about the border bill that had something like 20 billion issued to the southern border and about 80 billion issued to Ukraine and Israel?

If so, then yeah that border bill needed to be tanked. The government should not be stealing our time and money and sending it off to other countries when we have huge issues going on here that actually affect us.
