Im not a big jones hugger or hater. But last nights main event was pretty weak. We did not see a good fight. I hate 1st round flash KOs and quick fights. Because thats not a fight, in the sense that neither fighters heart was tested.

Everyone seems to be more focused on legacy and the celebrities just come to see history than a good fight.
 
That's fighting mate.

The sport doesn't owe you a long drawn out fight. The beauty of it, and for me perhaps the most exciting aspect is that the contest can be over at any moment if either fighter can achieve a finish.

Last night showed us that submissions can be every bit as explosive and unexpected as KOs.

Gane conceded victory. That's a wrap.

When you lay your king on his side a chess game is over. Whether it happens on the 27th move or the 7th, the outcome is the same.

Whether the first punch or the 238th is the one that ends it, that's the end. The first submission attempt ended it. Massive skill gap exploited beautifully.
 
The UFC threw Gane right under the Bones hype train… (it’s always a gamble putting your hopes on Jones.. but they need a star)
 
Yeah the days of mostly pure strikers vs pure grapplers is long over...except in the heavyweight division. Watch Jones totally obliterate the most underwhelming division. Jones is a GOAT in my opinion but this division will be mostly can-crushing.

Jones will not only own this division with ease but if Francis cones back he will own him too. Everyone likes to claim Francis has improved but he hasn't really,the first Stipe fight is a good indication what happens to him against well rounded fighters, Stipe looked like shit in the second fight ,he is worn outand that was the final nail in his coffin for his MMA career.
 
imagine paying eighty bucks for that.
 
I gotta rewatch it but at the moment, i agree. Seems to be some overly sucking jones dick going on for how quick the fight was, but i was preoccupied with pussy.
 
Don't mind the heart, he got tested and was defeated by way more skilled fighter. It doesn't get more satisfying than that.

It's not Jones fault the Gane is so bad at grappling.

Yeah, it's funny how Ngannou looked like a bum against Gane, and Jones didn't break a sweat and made it look easy.
Francis knew, that's why he turned down 8 millions to fight Jones.

Ngannou was leaving no matter what. What he was asking for was never going to be given to him. The Jones fight had nothing to do with it in my opinion. As for the fight, Ngannou isn't a guy with a wrestling base and a history of submission success like Jones. He also fought Gane with a torn ACL. Plenty of these things are not like the other. There's a lot going on here.

Doesn't change the fact that the "cherry picked" opponent made Ngannou look like a bum not long ago.
