Did you enjoy watching UFC in a movie theater?

I watched the last two PPVs at movie theaters in two different states, both were similar in that there weren't too many people watching. Maybe 20-30. Definitely a much more subdued crowd than at a sports bar. My guess is it's maybe a slightly more knowledgeable crowd since going to a movie theater to see UFC feels like a more deliberate choice compared to watching it in a sports bar or BWW. If you went to a theater you came to see something as opposed to just getting a meal or some drinks or hanging with friends.

Biggest downside to watching a PPV in a theater is they probably won't show the prelims. The showing starts when the PPV feed starts, so before that it's just a blank screen. I say probably because the second time I went I got there a few minutes late, but the first time there were no prelims.

Funny thing, last time it started raining pretty hard at the theater and the feed cut out for a minute. Thankfully it was between fights so I didn't miss anything important.

There is a NH theater/restaurant chain Chunky’s that would do PPVs. They always fucked up the scaling so it just looked awful on the screen. Plus they always had trouble getting the damn thing to work in the first place. I called it quits after a couple of attempts. Not sure they even do them anymore. Better at a Sport’s Bar.
I don't think Chunky's is doing it anymore, I would have preferred to go there over the last theater I went to. I've never seen UFC there so I wouldn't have known about them messing up the scaling though.

I do it the old fashioned way. Watch it in my living room and then between round breaks run into the study and post on Sherdog about who I thought won the round.

Never done it, would have to be an edible day instead of joints though I guess

Haha awesome!

I have a few slings from prior shoulder surgeries. They come with a big foam pad which goes between your arm and your body, and there is a Velcro strip to open it up if you wanted to take the foam out.

I took one and carved out a storage section. It will fit plenty of airline bottles or a fifth, plus room for bowl etc. Johnny Walker Black was generally my beverage of choice in those days.

No one ever searched it or even asked or anything. No one is gonna fuck with you with a sling on.

Great for festivals concerts, etc. Especially in summer when it is harder to hide stuff in your clothes.
I won't forget ragnarock, that simple, that straight forward.

We went in got seat upper deck and this date of mine vaped the entire fucking time.... and had a liter of JD just for "reasons"..... we had to cab it home home lol. Left the fuckin car there for a minute.... we got away with too much, but damn it was funny the next day. -- my arm brace had a mini in it... we came in stoned as shit and logical, and left like morons.

We clearly knew we fucked up

Who the fuck is getting the car?

In some countries, they have outdoor restaurants those used to play sport (like soccer) in a big projector screen

I thought it was cool sighting at night. Definitely wouldn't mind some MMA actions on it

With how much they charge for food? Hell nah

They used to do that up here in Canada but it was mostly a waste as the few times I went it was pretty much empty (meaning less than 30 people in a 200 + seat theatre.

They were okay as it was way cheaper than ordering and you didn't have to deal with drunken Affliction/Tapout newbs.
In what world is that a waste? So you practically had a whole theater to yourself, watching ufc on a big ass screen for less than you'd pay at home.

It was my favorite way to watch cards, but they stopped offering it in Alaska. I’ve never been to a live UFC, but this seems like the best best thing. Tickets only cost $20 too.

Only downside is having to sneak food in or pay high prices for mediocre theater food. Also, no drunk TapOut douches trying to fight people at the sports bar.

I did this for some past UFC events including 269 and will be doing this for 270. My wife comes along with me to watch and she enjoys it. as well. The theater we go to has waiters and serve decent entree's and food, so it's a win.

Listen, I watched a few events in there. I suggest watching in the back, being too close to the screen caused me a headache. Every time I went there was than 10 people in the theater, including me and the 2 people I went with.

Canelo vs Mayweather was about 25 people and a better atmosphere.

I'm tempted to do that for the next one on the 22nd. How was your experience if you went to a theater? Was everyone pretty loud like you are in the arena? Fights break out or anything?

Unless tickets cost the same everywhere, either pick the place that charges the most or pick the theater in the nicest part of town.
