Did McGregor just make history?

He's ran out of records to break so now he's just beaking ground in other ways.

Frankie is only getting "fucked" in the sense that he is being forced to fight a guy who has already beaten him once and who is a much worse stylistic match up for him than Conor.

But if you can't beat the number two man in your division you sure as hell aren't champion material.

Point taken and I agree but he is the number 1 contender now and he's waiting for a fight and Conor was as well..

styles make fights. If he had fought Conor,he may be more likley to be a champion than if he fought someone who he has allready lost to .So in that sense your wrong.

Will he be the first UFC champion to ever be actively fighting while an interim belt in his weight class is contested?
I know he's made history by being the first to ever flinch, get slapped, and tap within a 24-hour period.

Check Guiness, if you don't believe me...

Exactly, yet whenever everyone brings up RDA > Diaz > Connor they use the style make fights excuse.

Mctapper fans are so stupid.

Any guy with a legitimate shot at fighting for a belt isn't going to feel like a true champion not fighting the true champ. Yes he is getting fucked. If Conor can't make the weight cut and does in fact never intend to return to the division it's as simple as relinquishing the belt.

And if he doesn't relinquish the belt, and never fights again at 145, then the interim champ will be the true champ, as the division doesn't sit on hold until the end of time because the champ left the division and didn't return.

A champ who only took the easy way to the belt and dodged contenders is but a paper champ. He'll have to defend against Aldo anyway if he ever became champ. Is this all that an MMA fighter wants? To hold the belt for a second and lose it again the next fight? That's not what a champion is, and they all know it deep inside.

People who really want to be champion, need to beat all comers. If Frankie can't beat Aldo, then he doesn't deserve to be champ. Beating Aldo is a more legitimate way of being the FW Champ than beating Conor. If Frankie beats Aldo, he'll be the true champion in my eyes.

Why not behead Edgar or Aldo first and try Nate again?

Jesus, all this talk about 'taking the loss like a man'. When you demand a instant rematch is because you don't agree with the outcome and you are feeling you are still the better fighter. This is not the right mentality, he should just accept the better man won and if he wants to beat the guy he should take some time off and work on his weakness. Defending his title would be perfect in the meantime. It's not impossible for him to win this rematch, but it's just disgusting when there's an obvious and relevant TITLE FIGHT to be made.

First fight btw aldo and frankie was close enough. To me aldo was superior till he ran out of gas,but the momentum has shifted now

I'm surprised they made it this far. Props.
