Did Kos try to pull a Kos? *GIFS*

Early stoppage, he was clearly defending those punches by blocking with his head, that way his arms or hands didn't get damaged. He didn't react because he was waiting for the standup since he was in a neutral position with nothing meaningful happening. The fetal is the new guard.

The fact Kos was looking at Lawler the whole time and how he kept trying to kick him off the whole time was pretty good evidence he was fine.
And yet he didn't think it was a good idea to block any of the shots to the head... He might not have been out but he was certainly not intelligently defending himself.

his eyes rolled back at one point - he sure as fuck was not 'intelligently defending himself". Unless of course by that you mean blocking punches with his face.

Intelligently defending yourself includes gazing deeply into Lawlers eyes while not protecting his face and getting clobbered on? Go away.

In the gif lawler doesn't land his shots flush a few of them graze koscheck so its not like bombs were thrown at him that fight was stopped prematurely no doubt.

looking to his corner for advice IMO

Srsly?

"I'm being beaten about the face and head repeatedly! What should I do? My hands? Bring them up? Great idea!"

Kos was taking a stroll down queer street is what he was doing.

Pretty sure he didn't know what happened that would make Herb Dean stop the fight. That was a premature stoppage. Kos was still intelligently defending himself. To say Lawler "wouldnt've have let him get back up" is stupid. Early stoppage. Kos didn't even get Henderson/Fedor'd, he wasn't out at all

so getting punched in the face with your hands down over and over while laying on the grund is defending intelligently?

Kos got beat down pretty bad. Just because you don't like a Fighter, you don't want him killed in the ring. Which possibly could had happened.

The fact that Koscheck's head was bouncing off the mat and he didn't have his hands up was pretty good evidence he WASN'T fine.

Uh, what fight were you watching? lol Kos was staring across the cage when he was getting hit.

Got knocked the fuck out.

Maybe he was thinking about faking the knee but it didn't look like it.

Whoa, whoa, whoa let's not go brandying about with the term "KTFO'd".

A stoppage that people, including some cageside, found questionable is hardly being relieved of your consciousness.

It was a ref stoppage due to the fighter not "intelligently defending himself". Kos did not go limp or see the baby Jesus or anything.

I'm very glad Lawler won and a long time fan but bullshit statements like your that are allowed to go unchecked and unchallenged are what cultivate inaccurate perceptions of fights.

So, no.

He did go limp. He was woken back up with the fourth or fifth punch.

Lawler would have kept pounding on Kos.

Kos was definitely not coming back from that.

Yeah it was pretty ironic that Lawler hit him perfectly before he got his knees down. but not really sure it was Kos' intention that time.

It was definitely a early stoppage if you say it wasnt your retarded

lol.

The stoppage was fine. Koscheck was eating bombs and not defending. Dude, it doesn't matter if you're out or not. The rules don't say "fight will only be stopped when one fighter loses consciousness". They said that a fight can be stopped if one fighter is not or is unable to intelligently defend himself.

Even IF Koscheck was fully aware and functional, he was not defending intelligently as his head was bouncing off the mat. Fair stoppage. If you don't agree, cool. I won't call you stupid.

But you might be stupid.

I thought that maybe this was what happened too. Koscheck is a tough guy, and while Lawler is ridiculously powerful, the knee didn't look like it was that solid a shot to me. Kos just seemed to stop fighting after it though, first turtling up, and looking like he expected the ref to step in, maybe because he wanted a point deducted. He didn't get it though, and Lawler started dropping bombs on him instead.

Stoppage was entirely justified. He wasn't defending himself at all, let alone intelligently and had flopped onto his side. From one of the angles, after the left hand lands you can see his hands drop away from by his head and his eyes roll back. He's done. The ref is right there, paying very close attention. He steps in at that point, as Lawler throws another punch. When that last punch lands Koscheck seems to come back round and try to push Lawler off.
