Everyone said he had CTE when he shit talked like here

But I'm watching here and it seems like always sounded the same when he was 25

So does he really have CTE?

I met him a few times when he was a Cruiserweight. He sounded about the same to me. Not like the dude was the clearest of talkers before and he was fatter when he got to the UFC.

Chuck is the most obvious drop off I can think of.

That video clearly shows his signs of brain damage and slurring in his later years..

James Toney was the 160 lb Middleweight Champ of the world. He fought as high as 190 while looking in decent enough shape and won the Cruiserweight belt.

For his whole career he had terrible eating and training habits. The biggest fight of his career was against Roy Jones and he had to lose something like 30 lbs in a week. So that just shows you how poor his habits were.

As his career went on he just moved up in weight instead of worrying about diet and conditioning. All he literally did to train for fights was spar multiple times a week.

The guy was a fat mess by the time he went to the UFC. He was old and he had early signs of brain damage. He also was purely a phone booth counter puncher at that stage in his career so he had the worst style to cross over.

The whole thing was a joke and as a huge James Toney and Boxing fan I was embarrassed.

You should bear in mind that when professional mics are used, the speech always sounds way more clear (especially compared to potato phone mic). I'm not sure if he has CTE, he sounds quite bad from the beginning. But listening to his trash talk was utter cringe, he sounds like a 10-year old child.

Burger King hear I come baby, burger King burger King and don king kiss my ass. is the only time he speaks clearly lol

Starts a 2.12 lol

I couldn't help myself

Lots of people’s speech deteriorates as they get older when they don’t get punched in the head for a living. In this case and most cases, you can’t tell if a person has CTE simply by comparing speech.

You can definitively hear a difference.

And this was Liddell at the early stages of CTE, he also sounds drastically different:

That backstage footage is amazing. I wish the UFC would release that kind of footage.

But in the video I posted, you can already start to see the early stages of CTE, and what's crazy is that he only had one knockout loss by that point, so he must've been having a lot of gym wars.
