Did James Toney really have CTE?

That video clearly shows his signs of brain damage and slurring in his later years..

James Toney was the 160 lb Middleweight Champ of the world. He fought as high as 190 while looking in decent enough shape and won the Cruiserweight belt.

For his whole career he had terrible eating and training habits. The biggest fight of his career was against Roy Jones and he had to lose something like 30 lbs in a week. So that just shows you how poor his habits were.

As his career went on he just moved up in weight instead of worrying about diet and conditioning. All he literally did to train for fights was spar multiple times a week.

The guy was a fat mess by the time he went to the UFC. He was old and he had early signs of brain damage. He also was purely a phone booth counter puncher at that stage in his career so he had the worst style to cross over.

The whole thing was a joke and as a huge James Toney and Boxing fan I was embarrassed.
What was more embarrassing was despite his poor condition, Couture was still too terrified to stand for more than a second and did the cheap ankle pick

Dear TS,
Being professional boxer is not the easiest profession to avoid CTE. I think would be more important to hear what he sound when he was 15. At the age of 25 professional boxers have typically taken a lot of damage to the head.
We could also leave this to doctors to decide, what do you think?
