I think his crazy length added to all that, too. He could put some mustard behind those elbows and they clearly were affecting Jacare. I don’t think Jacare thought he was in danger of getting punched from that distance, but yeah...It was a crazy punch, and no one would have guessed "strikes off his back" as the likely way it ends before the fight, but it wasn't a fluke.
Holland created space with his foot on jacare's hip swung his leg for some added momentum and accurately cracked Jacare on the temple. He followed up while he was stunned. Nothing flukey about any of that.

This post makes me think you are exiting your prime. It's a new wrinkle in ground defense. It's called ground offense.Holland is no doubt a beast however and he put Jacare out fair and square. However, the strike that Holland threw of his back is something you just do not see guys throwing.
Yes Holland came in game as fuck and was throwing up triangles and elbows off his back prior to that, he would have found another way to finish the fight if it handn’t gone the way it did
Not "lucky", but Jacare kinda just let it happen as he didn't seem to have urgency keeping Holland down. I don't know. That KO actually makes me mad.
I'll have to watch the whole fight. I'll admit I only read the play by play and then watched a short video sequence after. He didn't let it happen. He couldn't do anything about it. That last exchange was not all that happened.
Before that, when Jacare got the first TD, Holland latched on a triangle and already had him hurt with some devastating elbows from the bottom. Then Holland hurt him with more elbows against the cage before Jacare got the second TD.
When Holland was on bottom the second time, he hurt Jacare with another punch off his back that caused Jacare to go off balance.
Then, came the sequence that looked like Jacare was just sitting there doing nothing while Holland scooted to his butt and delivered the nasty punch to the forehead then stood up.
People only remember that final exchange and wonder why he was just sitting there but his head was never clear from the first elbows.
I'll have to watch the whole fight. I'll admit I only read the play by play and then watched a short video sequence after.
He was doing this.. however Jacare did not secure position yet. If Jacure had actually secured a position, he probably would have grinded Holland outYes Holland came in game as fuck and was throwing up triangles and elbows off his back prior to that, he would have found another way to finish the fight if it handn’t gone the way it did
Holland actually showed the kind of "danger off his back" that we were allegedly going to see from Ferguson.
But maybe Oliveira is just far superior to Jacare in the grappling department.
<Lmaoo>
Not a chance in hell he submits Jacare. That was the only way he was finishing the fight off his backYes Holland came in game as fuck and was throwing up triangles and elbows off his back prior to that, he would have found another way to finish the fight if it handn’t gone the way it did
Holland won fair and square, but honestly I think the talking threw Jacare off. You can see him smiling while Holland was talking, like maybe he thought they were going to have a fun exchange, and then Holland nailed him. Holland deserved the win, but I think the fight could have gone longer had a Jacare stayed focused.Jacare was already hurt from the previous shot.
Holland says I had a dream about this
Jacare says did I win
Holland pops him and hurts Jacare.
It was a pretty funny exchange.
