it's interesting you would make this point, because what you're saying is "the majority is always honest." or "the majority is always right." and it shows you have absolutely no sense of historical perspective.
So, i've given this some thought, because it's interesting to me. in pop psychology you read about things like "mass hysteria" and "group think" and other phenomena where a collective of people are misled even though the truth is staring them in the face. and it's freakin mystifying. but seems to me, it's a choice. kinda like being in a cult. imo, people in a cult know it's BS. but they crave validation so bad. and there are so many other people with them, so they're like "all these other folks are going along with the lie, so i'm safe if i go along too. with all these numbers on our side nobody can call me out and ridicule me or censure me. so i'm gonna go along with it too. because it serves my purpose and my agenda."
