Did anyone else root for Izzy for the first time today?

I'll admit I've always rooted for him to lose, but this time I was more neutral, I wouldn't have been annoyed seeing him win like in the past

I'd be lying if I said a very small part of me didn't feel a bit bad for him, but then again he had to be one of the biggest sore/disrespectful winners in UFC history, it's hard to have that much sympathy for a guy who humps concussed opponents, mocks their kids, flips them off, and does tik tok dances/continues to talk shit to their face etc after the fights over, couldn't ever get behind that

I appreciated him having enough self awareness this time to go into it more humble, and I felt sorry for him a bit, but nah I could never root for that dude, not even against a Frenchie.

wasn't rooting for him per se, but it was the first time i caught myself not actively rooting against him. he's lost a lot of the arrogance, he isn't quite as unlikeable as before.

Not really
He looked really good until he didn’t, though.
I generally enjoy watching him fight when that’s what he actually does.

An attributed quote that I read in which he stated something along the lines that he could lose ten fights in a row w/o it affecting his legacy did not inspire much confidence.
I wasn't able to watch, but I figured Imavov would win and felt that would be better for the division as a whole.

Bit of new blood.

We've seen in other divisions (lightweight specifically) how hard it is to get new contenders when they start facing the OG's.
I was surprised at how few physical advantages he appeared to have when they faced off.

He has done best against fighters over whom he has a significant size advantage.

Add to the fact that Imavov had significantly fewer miles on him, and I wasn’t surprised by the outcome.

I've been an og Izzy hater since 2018 and have feverishly rooted against him for the past six years.

I found myself softer on him today though. Much softer. A couple losses and some humility does that I guess. I kind of wanted to see him back to form. I like rooting for the old champs fighting the up and comers. All of a sudden, I'm hoping he cracks Imavov with one of his lean back counter lefts. Crazy...
No

No.

It's easy being humble when you get your ass kicked.
