I had a pretty good collection of Archie comics when I was growing up. Everyone else collected Marvel or DC comics, but mine was Archie. I started small, then I just kept buying whatever I didn't have. The comics were so wholesome.

Yeah I'd bug my mom to let me get the digests that would be with the magazines at the grocery store check out. I always really enjoyed the wholesome and old school aesthetic.

Team Betty for life. Archie didn't understand what he had.

I have come to a conclusion that whoever took over DC and Marvel want to destroy the classics. I wish they would have left them alone and made their own , but they are not creative enough to do so. And here we are. Garbage products.

I even collected the Betty and Veronica digests/double digests

I never had any large comics for some reason, just the digests
Unlocking buried memories today. I remember Jughead getting his own official book and that being a big deal at the time

The comics and the cartoon episodes where awesome as a young kid growing up 👌

Definitely. Had about 20 of the double digest ones.

My favs were the summer and Halloween issues. I still see them on the shelf next to the cash register in the drug store. It’s tempting, but too expensive. Or I’m just cheap I can’t remember lol. But in the summer, as a child, I loved reading the millions of books my mother had.

Archie was the GOAT. I used to read them every night, pretty much during my entire childhood. I still have them tucked away somewhere, I think.

I also probably dedicated one or two early childhood sessions to Cheryl Blossom, Midge, Betty and Veronica. Good times.

I had to leave my collection when we moved. My grandma wouldn't let me bring them. That broke my heart. I was 14 years old and those comics were my prized possessions at the time. I'm tempted to buy them bulk on eBay.

Archie comics seemed hella lame. I was mostly into X-men comics and offshoots

I still remember moving out when I was 18. My mom put all my stuff in garbage bags. A couple of em had old toys and stuff in em. I remember chucking them into the dumpster thinking it's time to leave childish things behind.

I think in my mind I knew I had to mature rapidly without any guidance and I knew I didn't know how to do that, other than throwing away the past.

My sister bought them and when I got done with whatever comics I had, id read those.

Pretty entertaining. Esp when Mr Weatherbee's three hairs would fly off.

Parents bought them to keep us kids quiet on our long car rides. They worked.
