Diaz vs McGregor 2 will be at Welterweight

Conor wants no excuses i guess. If he does win people would just say Diaz would beat him at 170, this way no excuses can be made.

No, Conor wants to make sure he has his excuse for losing.

Why would a 145lb fighter and a 155lb fighter sign to fight at a catch weight of 170lbs. WTF? It's one thing if there's only 2 weeks notice, but this is months out.

What's next? Lawler vs. Rockhold at 205?

Garbage. I am also hearing rumor of Aldo v Edgar for interim champ.

There should be no reason to have an interim belt if the "champion" is not injured and is clearly capable of defending his belt.

And also if Conor wins, believe you me we will hear about how mindblowing it is that he won a fight two weight classes higher.

I'm so starting to hate the UFC. They have 200 coming up and this fuckin bullshit match will headline!?
Who cares about this fight? If conor wins so what? If nate wins so what?
Fight has 0 implications.
Disrespectful to the title fights on the card it is too.
Fuck the UFC.

Convenient, built-in excuse for Mystic Manlet who will once again fight the "bigger man."

The UFC believes it keeps the Lawler fight a possibility if Mcgregor wins.

Seriously. This is the only thing that makes any sense. They're still hoping to sell Mcgregor as a multi-weight force.

What? Dana really loves the taste of Conor's sweaty balls in his mouth doesn't he!?

honestly though- who doesn't pay to see that fight.

Look I know Conor Mcgregor is probably not actually a better fighter than the top 10 @ 155, He's probably not even the best at 145- but without any doubt is top 3 there. I also love me some Nate Diaz way more than conner, I wrote 2, 3 page articles here on sherdog about nate's win here and here.

But I am absolutely thrilled that little pompous maniac exists. You think Aldo ever moves up to 155 to tussle with RDA, much less take a short notice Diaz on @170, just because screw it? Mcgregor has more balls than most of the top guys and that is without question.

And that fight vs Diaz was one of the most thrilling and satisfying fights for me that I haven't really had since Lyoto made his lhw title run. The excitement he brings is no farce, he's exciting and I would watch nate diaz whoop his little ass 100 times in a row, bi-monthly and be just as thrilled.

So basically what I'm saying is, fuck yeah give me Lawler vs Rockhold at 205 with Lawler talking mad shit. Prize fighting is about the prize gentlemen. Not the belt, not the rankings, the Prize. And that's money, and that means exciting fights and we should be thrilled at the prospect of more of them- not scoff at them.

Retarded making it at 170 Conor doesn't even walk around at 170. I don't think Conor wins this fight at any weight but at least make diaz cut.

Don't like this fight , like it at 170 less, but it better at least be 5 rounds.

imagine this, Nate gets injured and pulls out...

Nick steps in and murders.

Pointless. Neither belongs at 170, and win or lose the cut back to FW would be much easier from 155 (assuming Conor defends).

So instead of having a fresh new exciting fight for ufc 200 we are going to see a fight we have already seen.

why ww and not lw. someone explain it.

Because it provides a built-in excuse for Conor/UFC if he loses.

If he fights Edgar or Aldo and loses, his stock goes way down. If he fights at 170 and loses, they can still use the weight as an excuse, and it doesn't take away from a big fight with RDA @ 155, nor any fight @ 145.

The UFC is basically hedging their bets so they can continue the gravy train with Conor. It's a win-win-win.
