Ariel said it on the MMA hour. Pretty much sounds like this fight is done deal and all but official for 170 pounds as the main event for UFC 200.

I love the fight, but I must say I'm a little disappointed to hear it will be at 170.

Exactly what I was thinking. The UFC does not want Conor to face Frankie. Aldo has already beat Frankie once, so they'll be banking on that again in hopes that it will knock Edgar out of the picture for good.

Dana knows damn well Frankie v Conor would be a take down clinic.

That interim fight makes perfect sense. Nate vs Conor. If Conor wins, the business wins.
If Conor loses you now have an insurance fight to unite the titles again and Conor moves back down to 145 to defend. If Conor wins that fight business wins. If Conor loses that fight then you are in trouble. They've just guaranteed themselves huge pay days. In the future regardless of outcome.
