Yeah...I like DeSantis more then "Bang" your best friends wife Newsome but clearly Desantis got treated like Barry did during his debates.

I listened to about 15 minutes of it. Fuckin hell, why did they use Hannity as a moderator? He sucks. There's basically nothing factual being debated. It's just 2 guys shitting on each other's state. On a side note, Ron DeSantis' "smile" is so off-putting he really needs to stop, just for the optics alone.

Watching David Pakman's stream, it was funny seeing Pakman go from excited as the debate started to bummed out in the middle while repeating "I'm not gonna lie, Newsom isn't doing as well as I expected"

I actually plan to pay more attention to that, because that isn’t my perception. Granted, I don’t watch my news much (I prefer to read it from several sources), and I never watch shit like MSNBC. But I don’t recall commercials on CNN being that bad, but I could have a blind spot there and not notice it, I’m totally open to that idea.

Man was it bad. After awhile I couldn’t help but laugh at the loaded questions and Hannity constantly cutting Newsom off.

Hannity: “On the topic of immigration, dozens of people cross the border from Mexico into California everyday. However, it says here that—*checks notes*—Zero people cross from Mexico into Florida. Gov DeSantis, would you like to bash this softball I teed up for you? Please take as much time as you want, so that I can cut Gov Newsom off as soon as he responds and tell him we’re out of time.”

It was pretty bad.

I agree about Newsom’s performance. There are a lot of arguments against DeSantis’s points, and I felt Newsom left a lot of stuff on the table. I am not sure if he was unprepared, or maybe just didn’t want to come off as far left and divisive while trying to appeal to a FOX audience. But either way, he should’ve gone after DeSantis wayyy harder than he did.

That is the stream I listened too. He sounded quite sad lol.

Anyways, I missed the last 5 minutes where both apparently agreed to continue into overtime. Both politico and NBC now reporting, confirmed from multiple sources, that during the commercial break, Newsom’s wife ended it. Likely cause he was losing.

I think he's been a really good governor (he's been right and effective on the No. 1 issue in the state, which is the housing shortage), and he's a good speaker. I know he has higher aspirations, but I don't think he'll get there.

I don't watch MSNBC either, but CNN or other mainstream news would be different because while their audiences lean left and rightists at least think the content does, it's not primarily ideological in terms of the mission. CNN's biggest advertisers are usually just stuff focused toward old people, like insurance, various healthcare stuff (mostly drugs), nutrition stuff, etc.

Yeah that’s my recollection too, but I’ll pay more attention to it just for grins. On FOX last night I swear I saw like 2 or 3 commercials about Jesus in a row.

RDS was trying to save his dying campaign, Newsom was trying to raise his profile and also bring up some stuff to the Fox audience that they hadn't heard and should know.
