depression? getting old? hormone issue?

What I mean about temporary, life is like a valley. You go up and then you go down. It just how it flows at times. Just got to wade it off.

I use floating on waves. Ups and downs. I get you though.

dm @IloveTHIS.

they want to do the same thing. documented in this thread they created.

I've thought about it way before the thread was made. I don't see it as viable in the UK. I think that councils pretty much have their grubby mitts on all of the land.

i saw a vid of a guy in england just caping out, but it was in like a park area, not fully woods, but not a normal public park. and the cops came to his tent and basically upended it and asked him to move citing he cant camp out in this property since yeah it was either council owned or perhaps crown? not sure what they said, i saw it a few weeks ago and cant pull it back up.

Yeah, I wouldn't like to camp out in the UK full time. We can get quite nasty wind storms over here and although it's not arctic level, our winters can be pretty miserable too.

I'd like a little cabin in the middle of nowhere, honestly, by a water source and a small patch of land for growing.

I'm not sure, but I think that there isn't a single inch of the UK that isn't owned by someone.

Theres a video online of someone who built at the end of someone else's land. I think a councillor came down with a camera crew to remove him, and he pulled a gun out and killed the guy.

for the last 6+ weeks I have absolutely no desire to do...anything. I go to work, come home, and just doom scroll youtube while laying in bed. I have no desire to do anything other than that. it doesnt seem to be a physical energy issue as I have no problem willingly working overtime. its just mentally things that should be fun/enjoyable to me, in theory, I cant pull the trigger and actually do them. the easiest shit too, like playing a game for a few hours or watching a movie I cant do.

nothing more than turning off my brain, finding any video just entertaining enough to watch while napping and waiting until I fall asleep. hour after hour, day after day. my weekends are literally 18 hours of this Saturday and Sunday
Dopamine issue. Put a stop to the doom scrolling bud

And look up dopamine detoxing

Could be hormonal

But I'd say most likely excess instant gratification from shorts, scrolling, etc. Add porn into the mix and you're basically depleting all your neurotransmitters on nothing

But seriously start working out first. Choose something you can fail at safely. Just gradually improve. That’ll have lots of benefits. I’m busy or I’d type a few out but just trust me in the failing part. So this and talk to someone besides your family practice doc.

If you live in a northern climate, you might be experiencing winter blues. With spring here, and sunny days beginning you might make it a point to get outside, get some sun exposure, and being sure to not wear sunglasses. Sunglasses can trick the mind into believing it is winter.

Do you smoke weed?

I f I recall correctly, TS took opiates and other drugs until he was hospitalized with seizures. And still would relapse many times. Does anyone think after putting so much junk and chemicals into your body, your psyche and mental health would be fine after you quit? No way, that takes a long time and there is probably permanent life long challenges he will face. I have seen many addicts use this as a reason to fall back into the life. If you are truly dedicated to living clean, depression needs to be dealt with. SSRIs are not stuff you can jump on and off. You have to find your baseline and work from there. There is joy to be had in life and there are tricks but you have to get depression handled 1st. Many people have mentioned sunlight and exercise. I will add hydration, and superfoods--blueberries, walnuts, avocado, spinach, broccoli, legumes, probiotic plain greek yogurt, and high protein and fiber. Avoid processed crap and sugar.

Sounds like depression. Plenty of non-psychiatric/psychologist fixes out there.

#1 being exercise. It’s tough to get into as you age though, because of dropping testosterone levels, and you basically start as a newborn baby if you didn’t keep it up throughout life. Trying to run/lift weights again and being incredibly low stamina and weak itself is depressing, and gains don’t come as quickly as when you were young. That’s why a lot of guys jump on TRT nowadays. It gives you that physical boost and mental drive, and once you start exercising, the depression naturally goes away when you see progress.

#2 being socializing. Find a hobby or volunteer somewhere (church, animal shelter, etc). Try to get involved. You meet people, make friends, and simply have something else meaningful to occupy your time and make you feel like you are contributing to society.

#3 adopt a pet. Having another life to care for can give you the drive to do more. Even when I’ve been depressed, I never failed to take care of my pets. You have something to look forward to when you get home, and just playing with them can cheer you up.

Some people can get out of depression with these things alone. Some people require a medication in conjunction with these lifestyle changes to help get them started. Medication alone typically will not solve everything. A psychiatrist will always recommend a therapist, who will likely give you this same advice. If anxiety is keeping you from starting these things, you learn how to overcome that as well.

Part of it the issue just modern society though. Having easy access to all essentials, nothing to fight or protect from, and a constant stream of media entertainment makes it so people can become content with doing absolutely nothing in life, and our brains just did not develop for that.
