Denmark offers jobs, housing and university education to returning jihadists

Appeasement is always Europe's answer.

You know they are gonna just start raping these Danish like it's part of their entitlement program.

As far as any from the U.S.

Johnny said it best and leave them there to die at the hands of whoever.

Is the US able to do this? I know there was talk about revoking citizenship but the question of legally being able to do it, there was no definitive answer yet. I would support this method of consequence. Also revocation of temporary student/travel/work visas and a total ban from the country if it were possible.

For those that calls for their citizenship to be stripped away and locking them in prison, how do you intend to achieve this? For someone to be stripped of their rights and freedom, you need to go through a due process unless you are prepared to suspend civil rights arbitrarily. That is a path I'm sure not many are willing to walk down. It is incredibly difficult to prove a returning jihadist had committed a crime on foreign soil, especially in a chaotic region like Syria, Libya, Iraq or Afghanistan. There is still the matter of determining whether they held membership in a terrorist organization in the first place, and I don't believe they carry certificates around for that.

I suppose these are actual Danish citizens, so they have to take them back?
Can't say I'm a fan of my own Government's approach, changing the laws to allow them to prosecute people for terrorist association or material support (not because of ISIS, but just because it's too open to abuse. As with the Bikie anti-association laws).
Seems a lot less likely to backfire though...

Denmark has the same population as Wisconsin. In the US, it would be a middle of the pack state so they can throw all kinds of stuff against the wall and see if it sticks.

I don't think the idea will work as well for jihadi's the way it does for normal crime, many Europeans going off to fight with ISIS were not considered outsiders many had jobs, decent level of living and until they turned extremist had even become pretty western. This is an ideological war standard of living won't change that.

I think this has more to do with the way the world is today, people especially men have always run off in search of adventure, many have gone and fought wars in other countries, during the times of Empire men could go off explore new countries, fight in battles and make their fortune. In this day and age there's very little adventure or glory for young men, then these young guys get these extremists telling them stories of glory and adventure and how they will come back heroes with tales to tell and get sucked in. It's also why so many want to come back when they realise the reality of the situation.

Those that have dual citizenship are having their British passports taken away, those that don't are more of an issue, we didn't jail every Nazi soldier so it's difficult to prove anything other than they need to be watched very closely. It requires a more long term solution, the modernisation of Islam to bring it out of the dark ages, whether that's possible I don't know. In the UK I'd like to become a secular country, no religious rights in public, work or government buildings only in your own home.

Love their social programs, but the jihadis should be left to rot. Waste of tax money

Actually the political debate is still very much going on in Denmark, with several parties talking about revoking citizenship and passports, alas that will probably make the SJW morons in the EU go bonkers. The article is about 1 town (

Right now but it would seem they are taking a turn in a direction that will undue all they have achieved.

I doubt they would fall over a few jihad johns

And here I thought Denmark was the most sane of the Nordic countries.

I kind of understand the sentiment. Prisons hardly ever work as rehabilitation so unless you have the means to lock these people up for life or execute them then it might be better to attempt to reintegrate them. A compromise might be to keep them under probation for a few years so if they slip up the consequences would be especially severe.

So people are free to go out and be known murderers and rapists and when they get back they want to treat them like royalty with free housing, education, and job opportunities? If this is implemented then Europe needs to grab its balls back from whoever has power.
