Succinctly, no. And there are a litany of reasons to want to see a president's tax returns who is hell bent on not letting people see them. Generally, and all the reasoning they need, is that is a public servant of the highest order and when he ran for and became president, the country has a RIGHT to know whether he is compromised or a criminal. I'm not sure how one defends the notion we don't have a right to see his returns other than they suspect it wont look good for team Trump (of course it won't).
And this new tack of "I don't care about his taxes" from the right is rich...literally all of his supporters seem to "not care" about all the shit he got elected based on and that he blatantly lied about.
And the law to do this isn't some obscure technicality...it's just a law and it has precedent for being in place.
