I think the wanting censorship and no debate/discussion is a big thing to. Maybe in some of the minds of the dems Trump really is Hilter so why would you want to talk to Hitler. I'm not a democrat so quit f-ing lecturing me on what "you guys" should do.

Both parties are long gone, there is way too much special interest money in the system now and the needs of the people are an after thought. When I was a kid they used to talk about abolishing all soft money from elections. Ever since they have steadily chipped away at the rules, so much so that representatives are beholden to the soft money more than the voters. Now banning soft money isn't even in the national dialogue. Our system is cooked.

Also when I was a kid the press was actually the fourth estate, an independent body not beholden to any of the branches of government doing the investigative work for the people. Now the press is either owned by huge corporations or by an oligarch. They don't function in the same role as before.

I guess what I'm saying is our system has it a dead end and needs a refresh or else we are toast.

The thing is, with Harris we would have had a kinder, gentler machine gun hand.

I don't support either party but Trump is a whole different animal. I was thinking about it the other day, probably the most distractive political figure since Stalin. Name a worse one.

Really though, I almost get the feeling a lot of the democrats are complicit with a lot of the stuff Trump is doing. Newsom and AOC are just about the only ones speaking up affectively.

I think your prognosis is correct. The system is cooked. Well and truly corrupted. No independent media, an absolute DELUGE of corporate interest money, AIPAC.

It stands yo reason that the salvation of a truly broken system will not be generated by that same system. Democrats and Republicans both are just two sock puppets on the hands of the corporate monoparty.

Eisenhower warned us about this , and over the years weve all gradually lowered our guard to the point now that the entire system is corporatist, entirely and only democratic, superficially.

Right. This is what I want from the dnc to a t. I'd support them if they did just that without any hesitation.

We don't have to agree about guns. But the parties stance on them makes it impossible for me to be your ally due to it being a party platform position.

I've been forced to vote Democrat but I was happy to see the recent SCOTUS 2nd amendment rulings. CA now has CCW access again. Magazine restrictions were found unconstitutional and if I am not mistaken the 'scary' features rifle laws got reversed.

Honestly with this 6-3 conservative majority we should be safe for several decades.

Federally Trump did more to directly ban anything firearm related(bumps stocks) than Obama or Biden. Granted Trump appointing conservative justices did a lot for second amendment rights indirectly.

I am now more focused on healthcare for all, union support, and green energy/infrastructure.
