So, the court documents don’t say what they say because of Taibbi’s right up.The point here is that Taibbi's work is not (and has never been, from the beginning of his career, by his own admission) trustworthy, if you're looking for reality-based journalism. He's trying to entertain people by weaving kind of simplistic morality plays and spy-thriller stuff with a mix of fact, hyperbolic presentation, and wild speculation. It has a place in society, I guess (not my thing, obviously), but it shouldn't be confused for a real understanding of the stakes of politics or real news. Even (or especially) if he's telling partisans what they want to hear.
