I understand a lot of sherdog dont really like the 125pound division (inb4 midget division) but can we agree that this is a insane matchup! Henry Cejudo is a gold medalist in the olympic games, this has to be the greatest athlete Demetrious has ever fought. I think people are sleeping on this one... Thoughts on the fight?

Johnson by complete shutdown

Its going to be great. I'm more excited about this fight than any other on the card.

It is said by some that in 2007 Cejudo didnt look as good as he did in 2006. Some wrestling fans say it was because he put his focus on the olympic trials and didnt want to show the tricks he had up his sleeve. I wasn't paying a lot of attention to the international scene yet but I hope it applies here.

The timing for this fight is perfect i'm glad they didn't rush Cejudo into taking it.

The lack of hype for such a great fight though shows that the division is forever doomed.

The lack of hype is because Cejudo hasn't really looked that great. Beating Formiga despite a short MMA career is very impressive. But we've seen some other guys finish Formiga but then get beat convincingly by MM. Everyone knows Cejudo was going to be "built" up by the UFC by not giving him overly dangerous fights, and despite that he hasn't really had highlight reel performances that everyone was hoping for.

Now, Cejduo just might come in and shock everyone by beating MM but nothing about his previous fights really indicates that it will happen. At least with Holly we see some devastating headkick KOs in her MMA fights and knew she trained at Jacksons so while her fights leading up to Ronda weren't amazing it was easier to believe she had it in her to pull off a big win

DJ fights require a lot of rewinding. The guy's celerity is nonpareil.

should be a good matchup, and another oppertunity to see DJ do what he does best. Dudes a beast.

Agreed! This has FOTN/Y written all over it!

DJ, but Cejudo is dangerous. This fight is incredibly underrated and it's really a shame, because it will probably be a highly technical war for at least a few rounds, if not all 5. Aside from size, DJ is as close to a textbook perfect fighter, as there is right now.

Nothing I've seen from Henry makes me feel like he is a threat to DJ. In fact the op sounded like a UFC Promo with Joe Rogan the only thing it's missing is something like "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW"

10 yr old reading level round these parts. His celery is not lined up

On topic: Would love to see DJ lose, and cry. K! But Henry slows down. K! I focus more on his hair bouncing than his technique. K! Don't think he can match the speed. K! And DJ will dump him on his head to prove a point. K!

Cejudo is certainly a great athlete, but let's not forget that DJ has already faced Cruz and Dodson -- 2 great athletes in their own right.

I'm definitely interested in this fight, but the general lack of interest is due to the fact that Cejudo simply isn't ready. He's only been fighting professionally since 2013, and it shows. Although he has all the tools to be a monster, he hasn't figured out how to put it all together. Hence, he's looked less than impressive against guys who aren't elite. For example, his win against Formiga is solid, but it's a split decision against a guy whom Dodson and Joe B both dusted inside of 2 rounds. To take it a step further, Cejudo doesn't have a single stoppage within the UFC -- I don't recall him ever being close to stopping someone.

Most people would probably agree that Cejudo isn't on the level of guys like Dodson and Joe B, and those guys had nothing to offer against MM. That pretty much sums up the lack of interest. Cejudo might get there eventually, but this fight is obviously premature.

This fight will play out like GSp-Koschek 2, without the million dollar paydays.

It doesnt make sense and dont why or how but have a feeling Henry will win this fight

I just feel even if Cejudo can take DJ down, DJ will either be able to bounce back enough to tire Cejudo out....or get a submission if he gets stuck down there (which is a big if)

I just think about how Cejudo had the nerve to call Mighty Mouse boring and how great it's going to be to see him get bored to death come fight night.

There'd be more hype if Henry was a little more dominant in his few outings. He appears to still be getting comfortable, but there's really no1 else in the division for him to fight. This could be an awesome bout, or DJ on cruise control
