Media Demetrious Johnson: The Man the UFC Erased

You call me out with no ground to stand on but now you're asking honest questions? Which not to mention, your question is stupid too.

I shouldn't need to defend my stance based on presumptuous personal attacks on a forum, you're being a dweeb. That said I'll entertain it I just want you learn and grow up a little.

I obviously follow combat sports close and they're near and dear to me on many levels. Prospects and talented up and comers are probably my favorite part about the sport and I frequently post about such fighters on Sherdog in detail and relish the opportunity for such discussion. Deiveson Figueredo was on my radar ever since he battered Moraga and Moreno I knew from TUF and I wrote him off (although his win over Ortiz I always regarded highly) but he won me over after coming back to the UFC when he beat Kai and Formiga back to back.

I'm not super big on Flyweight, it's generally a much shallower division than it's big brother Bantamweight but id like to see the UFC prioritize it more as there's a lot of talent outside the UFC at flyweight to be signed internationally which includes, of course, the Might Johnson Mouse.

I don’t think I “called you out” or “attacked you”. Certainly wasn’t my intent. My bad if it came off that way

The DJ thing was way more than a hey we gotta trade you for money thing and a hey let’s not even acknowledge you were one of the greatest ever-and pretend you didn’t lose a controversial split upon exit. Let’s never mention you again. The UFC with Dana at the forefront behave with cattiness. Stop syrup coating shit for pancakes
I mean why would they bother talking about someone they didnt want, and traded away?

Its not like their activley trying to erase him from history. They just literally have nothing to say. If they cared that much, they wouldnt have let him go in the first place.

If he was a legend in the sport no matter what erasing someone’s history or fame is absolutely a detriment to the organization. Whether you loved him or hate him you can’t mention him without legend and GOATyness and whatever issues he and the UFC had was over money and since they both made a shit ton together legacy should not be shit on. It’s clear evidence they don’t want you to look the best if you aint UFC which should never have to occur if that truth is self evident

They didnt erase him. They just dont see the point in promoting someone they got rid of. They got other things to do. If you go on fightpass, and wanna watch his fights, they are there. If you dont know who DJ is and what he done, then stop bein a casual

So in your book neglecting mentioning a great business partner who helped build your organization and reigned supreme when asked about who is amongst the greatest is not some sucka shit. Got you.

I see a lot of Selective memory ITT but I remember, when MM was fighting in the main events, that people were leaving the Arena before his fight and so did Sherdoggers, leaving the PBP and the Streams.

He seems happy over at one. Had a bad ass win tonight that no one saw. But probably got a big ass pay check.

UFC didnt even have to erase him tbh. Dude had few fans and is one of the most unpopular UFC champions of all time. Thats why UFC didn't even hesitate to trade him.

They made the right Business decision. Ben brought a spark to welterweight and being on the receiving end of Masvidals Holy Knee put UFC in a good position. They used Jorges crazy popularity to sell a shit ton of PPVs. All that upside because they traded an unpopular fighter. Well played moved.
He wasn’t unpopular, the problem was the weightclass.

GOATs can't be erased. MM would be a favorite over ALL ufc flyweights

Yeah the way the UFC and fans treated MM is a disgrace. No one deserved that treatment less than MM. Just fucking disgraceful.

If he'd fought TJ the fight would have sold like garbage(like the card they bought fought on) and Dana would have trashed MM relentlessly. It was a trap it was not a sincere effort to get MM's PPV numbers up. MM volunteered to fight the actual champ at the time who had a more exciting style.

They were never getting rid of the weight class they need as many title fights as they can get. That shit was specifically designed to get rid of MM.

125 is exciting as fuck. People that light can do all sorts of crazy shit that's heavily entertaining. The MMA community just hates little people. But they hated MM more cause he was boring. So our punishment was Henry C who might be the most annoying human being to walk the face of the earth.
