Not erased just distanced. Was arguably Win, Win. MM felt under appreciated, understandably, preferred One that promotes lower weight classes more in their org. CCC reinvigorated the division beating TJ then getting BW title briefly and retiring which Dana did not foresee. Askren was highlight suggesting UFC higher competition. Though others more mixed, Eddie sharply fell. Anyway good that there is some competition for UFC.

DJ is a great fighter, one of the greatest, but he just wasn't exciting, even when he did amazing shit, you had to sit through rounds of pitter patter shots that rarely hurt the opponents, looked more overwhelming than damaging. I rarely fall asleep during events, probably only done it 3 times that I can recall in my 15+ years of watching MMA. DJ is one of the few to have put me to sleep during his fight. With that said I think he's more fun to watch in ONE fc, some interesting matches he's had and pulled off a great KO this past weekend.

DJ is way better than they will ever give him credit for. But they made a lot more money as a result of the trade than they would have keeping him. GOAT or not.

Would also be very unusual to hype a fighter from another organisation. If he retires, he might be mentioned. But I doubt it. They never EVER put money in someone else's pocket. And naming someone else's guy while still active would do exactly that.

UNFORTUNATE TRUTH: The FLW division is more exciting without him

Any division that gets a shake up from having the long running dominant champ dethroned of just straight up gone is more exciting. So while I think it's easy to take this statement as a knock at DJ, I can't say it's incorrect either.

Honestly, LHW is more exciting without Jones. And as big GSP fan, the WW division was a lot more interesting when he left too.
