Deloitte fired Harvard Grad over a TikTok video

Good. She's showing no reverence in regards to the psychotic bs that's infecting the masses, and she's spouting false equivalencies and hate speech online.

People like her have no business being involved in the education of others. People in positions of power manipulating emotionally charged idiots is what started this whole mess in the first place. Also, her elbows are too pointy

100% agreed. Right now, people are essentially 24/7 employees since something they say at home can destroy their entire career. There's no seperation between work life and social life, which is a nightmare for pretty much everyone who isn't a business owner.

I'm not disagreeing with you regarding the encroachment of work into personal life, but going onto a popular social media platform with the full intention of being heard by as many people as possible to say you are going to stab people and watch them bleed out seems like it is an entirely different matter. In this case, she moved from the privacy of her home to the eyes and ears of a public space.

Especially if she would be working in a professional services firm where their reputation is directly related to their employees. Acting like a stupid bitch for the world to see is a no no

I'm not going to get too candid when it comes to personal details, but the program I took that educated me for my job repeatedly told me to be very careful about what we post on social media. We were all told to think carefully about what we are posting and to be professional and polite. My employers said the same thing before I was hired. I was even asked indirectly about my social media presence during the interview. They were very happy to hear that I do not even have a Facebook account.

My point is that I am certain the woman who "jokingly" threatened to stab people and watch them bleed out was told very clearly and repeatedly to be careful about what she does on social media. It is hard to believe there are companies out there who do not make some kind of mention about behavior on social media sites.

Yeah it shouldve been all too obvious for her. I'm an accountant and my first job was in a firm similar to Deloitte and they were clear our public appearance reflects directly on them. No one wants a stupid cunt handling their private information.
Our professional body also has a code of ethics where you can be disciplined for behaving in ways that reflect badly on the profession or your employer.

Out of principle, that would infuriate me haha. And I don't even have any social media besides Sherdog.

Like I said in another thread, stuff like this reminds me of insults like "wagie," "wagecuck" and "wagies in cagies."

If you can't freely talk online, are you really free? You're basically in a cage.

Controlling my speech for the sake of an employer (someone else's business) sounds like a miserable way to live IMO. It's appalling that this is not only normalized, but is considered the "proper" way to behave.

This isn't directed at you in particular. It's more towards the work culture we have created, which is why this topic always makes me livid haha. I legitamately can't relate to someone who'd choose even $100 million over being to say what is on your mind without fear.

This Harvard Grad jokingly said she will stab anybody who says "all lives matter", and then saying showing a papercut to them as an analogy

Deloitte completely terminated her for a simple video that was made as a joke. This is ridiculous and they dun goofed.

This is the original video. You can tell she was making an analogy and wasnt serious

Isn't that what the left want? Cancel people for dumb shit they say?

Lol at the lady that wants to boycott Deloitte. $45b company ain't doing SJWs taxes.

Sure, but they are being used in many cases by mobs looking for "justice". You say something people don't like, you get doxxed, you get fired. It's a pretty shitty arrangement for a liberal society.

One easy fix is to recompartmentalize life. What people do on their own time is theirs.

I more or less agree, but the concept of guilt by association is not going away.

Also when it comes to things like bigotry or bias it can become important with regards to the power you have in your job (e.g. I'd prefer if the EMT charged with saving my life hadn't spent the last 5 years posting about how my demographic should all die). That is something employers should take into account.

I think the best way to maintain a separation of your personal and professional life is just don't say dumb shit in a public forum with a permanent record. There people aren't getting fired over a preference for bourbon over scotch. It's talking about stabbing people with your face on the video.

I wouldn't like it if the hypothetical white guy got fired either.

There's a dangerous trend happening where the separation between work life and home life is disappearing.

A few decades ago, when you left work, you were done with it for the day.

Not really. You were always a representative of your employer off the clock. If you did something stupid off hours, and got caught, you'd get fired all the same.

What's changed is the level of exposure, and likely the intelligence of people in general. Don't be posting death threats on the web for the world to see, and you won't get fired. It's a very simple rule to abide by, but people are just too stupid today, and are more concerned with attention seeking on Twitter, TikTok, Youtube, etc, etc.

Unfortunately, social media has caused a rift between reality and fantasy, where people just lose themselves online, thinking there are no consequences for what you say and do online, in the real world. Just take this dumb bitch for example. She's absolutely shocked that threatening to stab people got her in trouble. Like, what world does she live in?

Well the solution is to strengthen labor rights so companies can't just fire employees on a whim. But the right in this country has been agitating for right to work which allows employers to do this. You can't give them the right to fire people on a whim but then say "please don't" and expect them to listen.

To be fair when I say "the right" in this context its really the GOP donor class I'm referring to here. I don't know how the GOP electoral base really feels about right to work but I wouldn't be surprised if they disagree with the donor class like they do on other issues like free trade.

I know the big 4 accounting firms have you sign contracts holding you responsible for what you post on your social media if it can be connected to your employment with the company. She's a Harvard grad, she knew what she signed up for, and decided social media likes were more important than her new job.
If its in her contract then yeah she can't blame anyone but herself.

Also I love your avatar, what's the source? Very addicting to watch.

It still perplexes me how fucking dumb people still are with the internet. No where in her first video did I get any hint of sarcasm, satire, or even humor. There are literally hundreds of stories of people losing their jobs because of crap the publically posted online, and yet this loon thought she'd just skate on by saying she would stab someone on app that literally does nothing but create viral videos.
Queen B is one of the most delusional posters on this page. Take what she/he says with a grain of salt cause he/she thinks with extreme bias.

The problem with this entire last month of protests is that these people think they are immune from consequences because it appears everyone is bending the knee to them. Therefore, they think it is open season to act stupid. Some of these looters getting arrested in the past few days are shocked. They never realized they might actually get in trouble.

this stupid bitch thinks since statues are coming down, images of companies are being changed and we are kissing blm ass, her side has won and she can shit ll over anyone she wants because of it.

I still can't get over the hatred that spews from one side of these peoples mouths while out the other side they talk about the hate of the right

Imagine being a lefty and losing your job due to the stupid precedent your base set. Hillarious.

Pretty much this. I'm a contractor. If I walk into one of my customers sites and act a fool on a Saturday, then show up on a Monday for a maintenance, that doesn't just look bad on me.

I'm not for firing people over social media posts, but it's hard for me to feel bad for this entitled brat. You know that this is just a very small pebble on the road for her which will be forgotten in a week. If she were right wing her life would be in ashes and she would never recover.
