Deloitte fired Harvard Grad over a TikTok video

I don't blame the company for wanting to distance themselves from are like that. She comes off as crazy, or at the very least, emotionally unstable.

Its a plainly a joke on her part. Maybe not a great one but its a joke. Conservatives normally whine when someone is fired for a joke but I guess they only care when its one of their one making a racist joke.

I don't get how you can watch her video and say it obviously comes across as a joke. What did she do differently than someone making a serious threat?

Don't post dumb shit online. Why do people feel the need to share their photos and videos for attention on the internet?

But isn't that what social media is for?

I did some work for Deloitte a while back.... 4 months of going to Nashville and getting trashed every single night... not bad.

Sounds like straight out of the @AgonyandIrony playbook of doxxing wrong thought.

No one should be defending this shit. It's online mob justice pressuring companies' bottom lines instead of tapping into some sort of morality they have. It's wonton destruction of one another over a TikTok video.

I think firing people over stupid shit like this is ridiculous. Sad part is that originally this was a leftist thing. Now the other side is starting to pick it up because "they are doing it to us so lets do it to them".

Unfortunately, it has to go BOTH WAYS before we can get rid of it. If one side gets away with it and the other doesn't it will never end. But of course you got Jimmy Kimmel saying the n-word and wearing black face and still working... so one side is fine with being hypocritical

People love to persecute people. That is probably the biggest thing missing here with LESS CHRISTIANITY.
Christianity has 2 important things 1) don't persecute people 2) forgive people.
*note: both of these are hard as fuck to do and many christians (real and socalled) are terrible at it...but at least it is in the teachings.

Not sure if this one has been posted but it’s solid gold. Like I said earlier, the girl is a psycho

You know what you're looking at right?

A child, who finally got checked.

"Wahhh! Bu-but it was Billy's fault! He made me do it! I didn't do anything! Please don't ground me! Wahhh!!"

Fucking Christ, this generation is pathetic.

you are a mod. look around and see how the ones worth respecting are talking and acting.
maybe you'll learn a bit of something.
You have somewhat of a point ehre but in my defense this is the War Room where its expected to get a little heated. And I intentionally use what I think are tame insults by WR standards like "numb nuts" instead of "dumbass" or "silly" instead of "stupid".

Do you think she was making a legitimate threat or she was being facetious? I'm not saying that because she was facetious she shouldn't have been fired necessarily, you can make a facetious statement that still reflects poorly enough on oneself that it might give a legitimate cause for your employer to take action. Heck her follow up videos are a train-wreck so maybe the company made the right decision. But my point is that I don't think her "threat" was a real, credible threat.

Lol, no assuming a small Asian woman is harmless is definitely not the systemic racism people are worried about, what a silly statement. No, the systemic racism people are worried about is stuff like redlining and bias in policing and the justice system at large.

What language are you referring to, the phrase "numb nuts"? If that's too extreme for you maybe you should stick to the Mayberry.

The small ones are usually the most dangerous and violent when it comes to gangs.

Yeah, I think it is bullshit. In an increasingly corporate world, why should some corporate HR bureaucrat get to decide what I do on my day off? Or say on social media?

Company conduct and speech restrictions should directly relate to the job, not indirectly. So if you badmouth your company all over Facebook and praise their competitor, that directly damages your employer. Taking a political stance my indirectly hurt them, but it does not directly.

Yeah, so people combing through social media and trying to get people fired at work is getting popular. If you don't like a coworker, simply take screenshots of all the shit you think they should get fire for. Its happening!

Isn't this world fun?

Yeah, it's not a joke. Not that I think this chick would stab anyone, but the posturing needs to be put in check, before that kind of rhetoric becomes the norm, and turns into a reality.

The "just kidding" excuse doesn't cut it here. She simply got overconfident, and forgot to mind her surroundings. She thought that kind of rhetoric had become normalized, and now wants a do-over because it got her in trouble. Too bad, so sad. Don't threaten to stab people on camera, you stupid bitch.

We now live in the era of black supremacy. She probably thought she was a person of color, but the stack rankings have been changed! White women and Asian people have been dropped down next to white men and can be cancelled at any time. Asian people are too successful, so they have been dropped to the bottom of the totem poll to hang out with white men.

Enjoy!

And the trans people worked so hard to make it to the top of the list, but George Floyd landed a knock out punch to put black people back on top. Muslims did have a pretty good run before the trans people and the gays have fallen way behind. Can't wait for the future to see who gets the top spot next!

This is what MLK worked so hard for. His perfect dream was for Asian people calling for the murder of anyone who dared say "all lives matter."

lmao.

That doesn't answer my question. You're just trying to put the onus on my opinion of the matter, which I've already stated isn't discernibly a joke but irregardless shouldn't lead to doxxing an unemployment. I think most of this stuff aren't genuine threats, like the inevitable death and rape threats people get online, not sure I'd classify this as a joke though. I just think people are awful in anonymity and we demonize people we only get a sliver of who they are.

You stated it was "plainly a joke" but don't seem capable of expressing what made this obviously a joke compared to other, serious threats. So again, what did she do differently than someone making a serious threat?

I retract the claim that its plainly a joke because to be fair jokes tend to have a certain structure to them, at its most basic form there's a set up and a punchline. This video doesn't really have that or anything resembling the structure of a traditional joke but I claim that its meant to be taken facetiously and not seriously.

Firing people for stuff they do outside of work is more control than I think companies should have over their employees' lives. If this lady threatened people's lives or something like that, then let the police handle it.
How about the central park lady with the dog who freaked out about the black guy who calmly asked her to leash her dog? Which (if either) of these two should have been fired? In my opinion just the girl who made the public threat.

Really stupid to this your liberal views are so widely accepted that you make jokes like this one under your name for the public to see. Big 4 accounting firms are famously conservative too - not so much politically but against controversy. And even if she was a consultant, they have a wide range of big companies and rich people you work for. Some may think its great, some may agree with BLM vs ALM but think she's immature for saying that, while others will be offended. People have been fired for doing much less.

A lot of employers will make it very clear before they even hire you that they don't want you goofing around and saying stupid shit on social media. Heck, even a lot of job-training school programs will repeatedly tell you over the course of the program that you have to be extremely careful with what you do on social media. There are even jobs like teaching where you can be fired for posting pictures of partying and drinking on Facebook. A good rule of thumb is to make sure what you are posting is polite and professional. The woman who just got fired could have said the same thing regarding her irritation with the ALM phrase in a different manner and there would have been no issue.

I fully believe this person issued a legitimate threat she seriously intends to act out on, instead of something said as an analogy just to illustrate a point.

Hopefully the F.B.I. is tracking her, and they are already looking under her front porch for the dead bodies she's already racked up.
