Definitive 205 All-Time Ranking

He was LHW champion bubba. If it’s so easy to be the LHW champ and be HW champ Shogun Chuck Rampage and everyone you rate higher would have done it. Sherdog kills me lol

Ughh, what? What does being LHW and HW champ have to do with his overall ranking at 205?? Absolutely nothing. You're just looking for reasons to place him higher which make no sense. Conor being LW champ doesn't make his overall ranking at 145 better either.

And no, those guys didn't do it because they're LHWs who were at LHW their entire careers. Furthermore, from 2007 to 2015 the UFC heavily encouraged champs to stay at their weight class and become long time champs. Post 2015 it was the opposite where they wanted double champs. Cormier was originally a HW, he moved down cause Cain was at HW and it's a conflict.

Wake up dummy.

Basically he had a bunch of fights at 205 could have made 205 his whole career pretty much and would beat the shit out of anyone not Jones

DC only had a handful of fights at 205. And the argument that DC would be the shit out of everyone isn't a great criteria to use when doing all time rankings. You can think DC would beat the shit out of everyone but the fact is you don't know that. All it takes is one strike to defeat anyone. The idea that Liddell, Wanderlei, Rua, Rampage, ect just absolutely couldn't do it is just your short sighted opinion.

Imagine having to explain this

U FIGHT CHEAP stans are truly pathetic with their absurd bias

Jackson got pieced up by Forrest ffs,,,,and still no Saku

We know that Jones tested positive, while his opponents tested negative.

Really not sure why people still say "everyone's on steroids" when only a few fighters pop.
Lance Armstrong never popped.
Lance also insisted before being caught he never did PED's and even sued people who accused him of doing performance enhancing drugs. It just seems like some people don't understand how high-level athletics work.

I believe the 205 GOAT ranking is the most difficult to rank. The reason being is because most 205 fighters have fought in 185 and/or 265 sometime in their careers.

1. Jones
2. Rua
3. Jackson
4. Liddell
5. Wanderlei
6. Ortiz
7. Teixeira
8. Machida
9. Evans
10. Cormier
11. Griffin
12. Blachowicz
13. Couture
14. Henderson
15. Belfort/Noguiera/Johnson

No Shamrock?

If the discussion is who was the best I would have DC as number 2 because I think he beats everyone minus Jones and maybe Liddell (couture 2 fight) but I think DC wins

if we are talking accomplishments then yeah Dc is like 8-10

Glover and Rashad over DC is a joke. Also no Frank Shamrock? People forget too soon

I don't agree but I've also seen worse. A lot of people have DC 2nd apparently for reasons that confuse me.

Machida should be higher, Wandy should be outside of the top 10 if he should even be present.
I couldn't agree more about Lyoto and Wanderlei.

Wand out of the top10, let alone top15, with wins over Rampage x2, Henderson, Mezger, Arona, Sakuraba, Yoshida, Nakamura, Stann, Jardine (coming off a W over Liddell) or the same Kondo that Tito defended his tittle against is very, very hard to sell

I just was never a wanderlei guy. Sorry - I'll take prime 205( or 185) Lyoto over prime 205 ( or 185) wanderlei....... and Itll take me a millisecond to decide. Silva one of the most popular fighters ever , just never did anything for me ( outside his 1st 2 wins over Quinton).
That's me.

What's up , pank ?

Whats up Frank,

Not that Im a Wand guy neither but if we are objective, it's very hard to dispute he should be in the top10 based on record at LHW alone, let alone top15

I wont push back on that . Wanderlei is more of a me thing (but legit reasons why) than anything else.

He does own one of the most aesthetically pleasing finishes in the cage/ring of all time with Quinton tsking a bottom rope ring nap.

DC would beat anyone in the top 10 of LHW ever not named Jones and was LHW champ. Not rating him as a top 5 LHW is goofy

Basically if you were a good enough LHW to not only be LHW champ but also move up and be HW champ while still moving down and being LHW champ besides beating Jones rating a man at that level lowly is plain stupid
