Definitive 205 All-Time Ranking

Tough division to rank.
  1. Jon Jones
  2. Chuck Liddell
  3. Rampage Jackson
  4. Wanderlei Silva
  5. Shogun Rua
  6. Tito Ortiz
  7. Daniel Cormier
  8. Randy Couture
  9. Lyoto Machida
  10. ?? This is a really hard one. Might be Bader?
Glover better then Bader imo

Not sure why you have dozen posts in all-time thread like this if you cant tell beyond the last decade
Dude you do realize watching MMA for the past 15 years and Couture not being relevant and being told by a nobody I can’t comment on a forum is a kiss my ass moment right?

What I see is playing victim, nobody told you that can't comment in a forum.

You insisted in this thread to argue Cormier should be #2 LHW all-time because would beat everybody at LHW.
Despite arguably losing to Gustaffson btw, and losing to Jones more soundly than others.

Its pretty weak but I replied with Couture to try to find it some sense but it turned out you've only beeen watching since Cormier was around.

I know this will draw the ire of many but I sincerely don't think Jones should be on this list. He's an established cheater. Since 2016 all of his wins were close and uninspiring, except for 214, where he popped for turinabol. He took steroids for all of his fights against DC.

Its reasonable your stance but we don't really know the whole story and imo is telling that Dana White and specially fellow elite fighters don't take those substances so hard and Jones is still widely regarded GOAT in the community

I believe the 205 GOAT ranking is the most difficult to rank. The reason being is because most 205 fighters have fought in 185 and/or 265 sometime in their careers.

1. Jones
2. Rua
3. Jackson
4. Liddell
5. Wanderlei
6. Ortiz
7. Teixeira
8. Machida
9. Evans
10. Cormier
11. Griffin
12. Blachowicz
13. Couture
14. Henderson
15. Belfort/Noguiera/Johnson
Evans, Griffin and Jackson far too high on this list. Belford, Noguiera, Henderson and Cormier too low.

I started in Strikeforce and to be quite real I respect the accomplishment of anyone who came from a certain era before the fight game became more developed. See what some folks don’t wrap their head around is they are comparing legend to legend when the truth of it is that if you compare the majority of mid and lower tier fighters now to yesteryear in the prehistoric annals of mma It’s a laughable difference. The sport evolved and Randy legend that he is from an era that I have no clue how it would translate into today’s mma with any degree of massive success he had formally. No son I’m not playing victim I’m being kind. Nobody with the exception of you believed Gus won that fight or spoke about that fight much sense. False narrative bucko. You have a nice life. Just remember nobody’s playing victim son I’m sparing you from being one in these sherdog streets ya heard

Couture and DC is ranked a little too low.

1. Jones
2. Rua/ DC
3. Chuck/ Wand
4. Shamrock
5. Tito
6. Rampage
7. Machida
8. Randy
9. Henderson
10. Evans

Honorable mentions - King Mo, Lil Nog, Arona, Moose, Newton, Bader, Griffin, Rumble.

Honestly, most of the spots are difficult for me to say definitively outside of Jones being #1. I feel like most of the spots are pretty close though.

Its hard to say but Shamrock #4 is definitely off

Both imo….disregarding Bader at Hw

Yeah, I wouldn’t rake Bader’s HW fights into account.
When I rank, resume is all that matters to me, I don’t make subjective judgments on who is better.

Glover: Ricco, Rampage, Bader, OSP, Rashad, Cannonier, Cutelaba, Krylov, Lionheart, Santos, Jan, plus an assortment of dudes like Maldonado, Eastman, Sokoudjou, Kingsbury, Roberson, Cirkunov, Cummins, Te Huna.
1 UFC title win, no defenses.

Bader: Jardine, Lil Nog x2, Rampage, OSP, Phil Davis x2, Feijao, Latifi, Vassell, King Mo, Machida, plus guys like Vinny Magalhaes, Perosh, and Matyushenko.
1 Bellator title win, 1 defense.

Damn, that’s really close. I might agree with you. I don’t use head-to-head matchups as a be-all and end-all when ranking, but sometimes as a sort of tiebreaker.
Both Bader and Glover have about the same number of good wins; Glover has a larger assortment of mid-tier wins, Bader has a title defense where Glover doesn’t, but it’s with the Bellator belt not the UFC belt. Glover does have a win over Bader, albeit in 2013.

I think you’re right: Glover above a Bader, but just by a hair.

It is very close …..There fight was great if I recall…..Feel like Bader rocked Glover and then got finished himself when he went in for the kill ….been a while lol

Rumble better than both.
Arguably Gustaffsson and Evans too, as well as Dan Henderson imo
Evans is close imo …..Rumble beats them in a fight , but his 205 resume isn’t great imo…..Hendo rates higher overall then one weight class
