Essentially, 8 states standing as plaintiffs (supported by aother 20 not listed as official plaintiffs) have caused an injunction against this jolly group of staggeringly stupid people to be able to share CADs for guns. There really is no hope that this cat (or CAD hrhrhrhr) will be back in the bag ever again, but at least one can hope that this scum will not be able to make money off of it, or at least not this way. This country is not intelligent enough to handle untraceable guns.

Yeah, we'll just go ahead and stuff that genie back in the bottle.

Like I said, it ain't happening, but at the very least we should make it super difficult for these cunts to make money off of it

Why? This seems be directly in line with the whole "shall not be infringed upon" concept, no?

Untraceable guns. If you can't trace it, ownership cannot be established, crimes cannot be prosecuted - pretty sure the domino effect of this kind of scenario outweighs the benefits of trusting a piece of 230 year old legislation on the basis of "but but the founding fathers". Pretty sure these guys would have putforth a much different version of the amendment had they had the insight into what kind of insane shit people would try to apply it to.

A victory for the rule of law.

What do you mean by untraceable guns??? You realize that guns in many states can be sold in private sales between individuals with no transaction records???

Honestly if you’re going to shoot somebody though, just use a Taurus judge with 410g 00 buckshot....they can’t really get a good balistic match off that shit, then make sure you destroy the gun really well, burn it in a fire then smash it with a hammer when it’s red hot. Then dispose of it.

You don't need to know who owns a gun to trace it or tie it to a crime . . . the ballistics of the firearm isn't impacted by the lack of a serial number.

Besides . . . alternative sites are already up with the files available for download.

Read the whole article. The issue extends past traceability and involves the fact that 3D printed weapons can easily circumvent security systems as well. It's a massive risk for which there is currently no mitigation, nor is there even an idea of what mitigation would look like and cost

Your understanding of our nation's history is lacking. As is your knowledge of untraceable guns.

This country is not intelligent enough to handle untraceable guns.

Many in this country aren't smart enough to see how stupid they are about many things . . . folks have been able to make their own firearms and have been doing so for a long time. Well before any mention of "3-D ghost guns" . . . talk about hyperbole.

This doesntd mean we should keep reducing the barrier to entry though. Not that it matters now, it's done.

Five more years...

Files already shared. Already loose in the webverse. Never mind putting the genie back in the bottle, there's no bottle. Let the great plastic apocalypse being.

Yes, I know. But might be interesting to see someone try. Like one of those firearm fail videos that float around Youtube. Maybe something in a carbon fiber? Would obviously be subsonic, short range....*heads to the lab*

@Teppodama

Sorry to keep @Ing you, it’s a yellow card thing, I can’t directly reply at the moment.

So you remember that Clint Eastwood’s movie where he’s a secret service guy protecting the president and John malkovitch wants to kill the president??? He had a plastic gun he made but I don’t remember what he did for bullets to get past security.
