Deconstructing MMA Myths... [Part 25] - The Wild, Wild East...

I'm not askin to say they did it. I'm only asking for 1% chance that it's a possibility. Your last paragraph is what I'm talking about.

It wouldn't surprise me if there's fixes across any org... so I find it seriously bias if you're not even willing to give it a possibility in the Yakusa run Pride who fixed fights in the early days & had a contract guaranteeing they wouldn't test that there's no way there was any fixes ever. You're saying 100% no way... it didn't happen. That's my only gripe.

give me 1%... hell give me 1/2%... just don't give me 100% on the flip.
ok, but you already have your '1%', since at least 4 fights are indeed rightly considered controversial.

But this is not the most complex part (all MMA Org. had fixed or controversial fights, in the 4 major traditional NHB/MMA countries).... The complex part is the power struture inside the Org. : in other words, who was controllin´ the game?:
- da Prez [Sakakibara]
or
- 'middlemen' [managers, 'clans´ inside the Org., key players who had involvement in other Org.]

Thanx for that. I felt like I was the only one giving for a minute... but this is fair.

I'm good with that.

The main idea to get out of this here: the dialectical movement between an entity & key players with their own motivations.

Jus´like in Michelet´s book "History of The French Revolution", some actors may have their own agenda, but in the end, and even though they seem to be goin´against the entity´s evolution, even they do contribute to that evolution [see Takada & the transition from the pro-wrasslin´model to the real MMA one]

> yeah, but Baroni´s narrative disqualifies that dichotomy between a clean UFC & a shamelessly roided Pride.

Question: between Pride´s birth & death, how many UFC fighters were caught usin´PEDs?

> About Sonnen´s legit knowledge: do the test > I dont use social media, but I believe he often does some Q&A with fans.. Ask him about that ear piece thin´, ask him about controversial sequences.

Tim Sylvia
Josh Barnett

That is all...

Addin´ Gifs:

[OP]: PRIDE 1:

Koji Kitao def. Australia Nathan Jones :

Jones was a striker, clueless on the ground and about submissions.
He had only 2 fights (1 pro, 1 amateur) during his career, both losses.
This event was not Pride ONE, it was a one-and-done event, not an Organization...
Jones later confirmed that it was indeed a work, pretendin´he was 'promised' other fights, but...he was never invited again, which proves, if indeed his fight was a work, that Pride Officials and Cornermen were not necessary linked.

Meanwhile, it´s not very well-known, but Kitao [sumo] did get the dominant position in all of his 3 fights:
> In UFC, vs Mark Hall, he took him down, but got cut during the process, and the Ref. stopped the fight
