1. In the post-fight pressconference, he says he heard before the scorecards were announced Islam saying to his cornermen that he wants a rematch because he thinks he has lost. When he gets pressed on this point by the journos he backs down.


What volk said here is blatantly false for a couple of reasons.

A) Islam corner was made out of 3 Dagestanis and Javier Mendez lol


B) Both Islam and Javier were asked about it and they denied this. Islam and Javier were sure that they got 4 or 3 rounds in the bag.

The condition Islam was in the 5th round and right after the fight, he could have asked that and not remember a word afterwards. He barely could stand. Or just not admit that he said that. It also took him really long to get to the press conference after the fight. Usually fighters with minimal damage, no stitches, and in good condition come there much faster.
What goes for Mendez, Islam could have said that in russian and Javier would have no idea or just not admit that he heard something like that.
