Deadlifts and milkshakes

5/15/2013

C2 Rower for some time...

Squat
bar x 10
65 x 5
85 x 5
95 x 5
115 x 5
115 x 3

Did some light benching

Then some stretching

Notes: Kind of a joke session just to get my blood moving before the meet. I was starting to feel a little stiff. My hip is feeling LIKE SHIT. Piriformis and hip flexors are swolen and really irritated in the hole of the squat. I hope I can keep it together for this meet. I've trained really hard for this and I felt very ready about two weeks ago, but now I'm just feeling really run down. :icon_sad:

Here are my tentative attempts:

Squat
165
180
185/190

Bench
105
115
120

Deadlift
235
255
270

The second attempts would give me a 550 total which is a reasonable goal for me that I could leave feeling okay with. Third attempts are a bit of a reach but a 185 squat would make me feel incredibly happy!!!

Awesome ass is awesome. Good luck in the comps, WC

oh my...miaou who? ? HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

The irony here is that I don't even think I've ever seen you you post before.

It's one of the more accurate ways of testing body fat if you are using good calipers.

A kinesiologist I work with was just certified in body composition testng. Its pretty good if you're able to do it properly...

Hm, I will try out the calipers at my University. I wish I had it tested before I started prepping but oh wells.

Awesome ass is awesome. Good luck in the comps, WC

Thanks.

Yesterday I came down with a cold and today it has blown up to the point where I can't see anything or breathe. I've been stuffing my face all day and plan to sleep a lot. Hip also still feels like shit. I will be amazed if I don't get completely stapled tomorrow...

i hope its nothing serious

Well its not aids, so that's good. It's just a nasty cold.

I weighed in at 135 this morning. What an awkward weight to be at. Competing at 148 just seems silly when I'm 13 pounds under haha

Pine Bush Powerlifting Championship

Well, I surprisingly did very well at this meet despite coming down with a nasty cold days before and having a mild hip injury.

I went 8 for 9 which is an accomplishment in itself for me since I seem to always miss a command, or a lift entirely.

I don't have much to comment on about the meet. It was a small, quiet meet and I think I am finally getting used to this competition stuff. I was sufficiently nervous at the beginning but after the first squat attempt, I felt fine. I know I've been training hard for this and I was ready. The only thing that was different for me this time (despite not fucking up completely) was that the weights had to be given in kilos. This kind of threw me off and I ended up changing a lot of my attempts. It worked out in my favor since I was forced to go up in weight when choosing attempts and then I lifted more than I was expecting to.

My goal for the meet was to PR on the squat and total at least 550. I surpassed both of my expectations on these goals and couldn't have asked for a better meet.

My attempts were:

Squat
155
170
187.4 (+7 PR)

Bench
105
115
121 (miss)

Deadlift
235
255
275 (+10 PR, +30 meet PR)

I am very happy with my performance and feel very confident in myself as a competitor. I have truly dialed in my training, nutrition, and selecting attempts. It only took a year and a half, but I think I finally have a hang on this. :)

I'll be resting for a week, prepping for this dumb bikini contest, then starting sheiko prep.

lol, you deserve credit for every last pound. You put it all together for this meet--congratulations again. Two great meets in a row for you!

Very nice!! And I enjoyed the video.

You're on a nice little roll.

Thank you, thank you! These PRs were a nice surprise for me.

Did you end up competing? I remember we were talking about the meets being on the same day.

Congrats on the meet! I like that last squat.

Thanks! That was a VERY hard squat. It felt like I was standing there for 5 minutes haha My legs are definitely feeling it today.
