Deadlifts and milkshakes

It's been about two weeks since I've trained but I felt relaxed and open for today's practice which was surprising. I learned two completley new submissions today - the darce choke and anaconda choke. It took me a little while to get these, but when I did get it, IT WAS AWESOME.

I rolled with some new people today. Since it's a club at my college, we seem to ALWAYS get the same exact people which is good but sometimes it's nice to roll with people you are not familiar with, so that was cool.

First roll was with this skinny kid who fucking hurts me everytime because he beasts everything. I reguarded him a lot so that was pretty shweet, but he submitted with an armbar. Grr...

Second roll was with a guy more experienced and it was really fun and fluid, probably one of the best times I've ever had. He helped me with my rubber guard and omoplata (sp?) I got him a guillotine but couldn't finish it. I used to be so proud of my guillotining abilities but I guess that's what my instructor meant when he said it's going to be hard to get a guillotine on a more experienced guy.

Lastly, my insrtructor helped me learn different ways of pulling guard and going straight to the armbar. This will be very useful as I'm always doing the same shit with little success.

Did some mountain climbers when I got home, and then decided I was lazy.

Nice Squat! You probably have more in you since you hit two PR's prior to doing that. No rush though...

Glad the weak curling man entertained you guys, he came in and curled 45 lbs for 5 minutes and left.


Tonight

Went to the climbing gym and traversed a full lap around the gym. I felt a lot more solid than I used to when I was super skinny, my core felt stronger and I could feel that I was using my body more effectively. My forearms felt like jello though, gonna need to work on that!

Im growing my hair out for Locks of Love... if I can stand it.

The funniest thing about Wanderlei curling was that he was using the 25lb bar and didnt even know it. He eventualy topped out with a 10 and 5lb plate on each side The kid looked lost.

I weighed myself today and I am now 134 lbs. (I was 118 when I first started posting) I feel kinda sluggish and chin ups are getting harder. Think its time to stop eating bison and peanut butter.

Classes are over for me so I had some extra time before practice to warm up. Ran around the gym for a little over 5 minutes, then suicides back and forth...it's been a while since I've been running and I am finally feeling that lifting is helping me feel stronger and faster in other aspects of life...so...that's cool.

Warm up roll for about 5 minutes.

IN HOUSE TOURNAMENT...today was the last meeting of the club and of course I was the only girl to show up so I had to compete against one of the most experienced guys in there. The rules were 5 minute rounds and the winner was judged by the ability to dominate (not by points since most of the guys there aren't familiar with the system). I actually lasted until about 4:40, then he got me in an arm triangle.:mad: I wanted to last the whole 5 minutes but I was getting really tired. I think I defended myself pretty well (I hate losing) so I got out of a few armbars and an omoplata. I had some weak triangle/guillotine attempts on him but never finished anything. Goon said "Wow, you didn't do anything retarted." There's the recognition I get for four months of training...awesome.

A lot of the guys did pretty well and I was really happy that they have been progressing. Since we had such a good turnout, next semester I arranged for us to have 3x a week so I'll be getting a lot more training in. I think I might start training at a real school and take some boxing classes too.
 
Today is the first time I've skipped a workout (for reasons other than injury of course)

I forgot that I had a party to go to in New Hampshire and it's a 4+ hour drive and I just wouldn't have time to hit the gym, so I figured I'd torture myself on the hills in my backyard.

First time doing hill sprints in a really long time, it took me almost 1:30 to get up the entire hill each time...went up about 5 or 6 times. Didn't take any breaks for 15 minutes. I was sucking air for at least 5 minutes afterwards.

Haven't lifted in a week because I've been visiting a friend at UNH. Ended up getting a little crazier than I thought!

Hiked 5 miles in the white mountains today...getting myself prepared for the high elevations in Montana!
