Deadlifts and milkshakes

Notes: I've been in a serious funk this week. Eating and training have become a chore. I feel a little better today, just incredibly tired and somewhat depressed. I know I haven't been eating enough because my company bought us shirts today and I was sized as a "youth M" lol

Dude, I don't even know! I've tried to sort out the shit in my life that is stressing me out. Most of it is work-related and I'm planning on just delegating some of the things that I do onto other people that don't do anything. Once I can feel more relieved at work, I think everything else will fall into place. It's just hard when training used to be my happy place and now it's my "ah damnit, I HAVE to go squat now" place.

So, short answer is no deload. I'm just going to push through it until it starts feeling right again.
 
Well you're still setting PRs, so I think you have the right idea to just push through it. The mental feel will probably subside, just part of the ebb and flow.

Judging by what I saw in goon's latest vid, it looks like you've finally put on a few extra grams of body weight.

Have you ever had a proper postural assessment?

I hear you. I've been up and down emotionally a lot this past week, and I've lost around five pounds in the last ten days or so. Up until yesterday, eating was a real chore. I think you're making the right decision by pushing through it though.

Yeah, it looks like I have gained some weight. However, I still pretty much have the same number on the scale. I've also lost weight this week from being all emo.

I don't think I've ever had a 'proper' postural assessment. I've been to two chiropractors in the past year and they've looked at my spine in all different positions and have never commented on anything unusual. Do you mean something more specific?

Notes: I skipped benching today and instead slept for three hours. I don't regret it at all.

A postural assessment involves checking for spine curvatures (eg. exaggerated lordotic/kyphotic curves or scoliotic curves), as well as other deviations for "normal" posture (like overpronation, internally rotated femurs or humeri, pelvic tilt, rounded shoulders, winged scapulae, forward head posture, etc.). Having seen two chiropractors, both of whom performed some sort of an assessment, you've probably had all that checked and more; never mind!

I did have a thorough examination by one chiro but the second one basically just started adjusting lol

I think I had fast food once in the past two weeks. I haven't been able to keep up my weight gain without it. I'm back to 132. The main reason I stopped eating it was because it's too much money. I can buy a whole pound of beef for the same price as a meal at McD's. There's something wrong with that.

I guess so! I didn't consciously think one day, "Okay I'm going to start eating better." Everyday it just seemed that I was eating less and less. My bf also has been eating cleaner and we typically just eat the same things so that probably was a contributing factor as well.

Notes: I finally got 210!! It's been a while since I've made progress on the deadlift. I have a video but I don't have time to edit and upload it right now. Probably tomorrow. Form was bleh, but speed felt good.

Also, I'm trying out sumo now. I have NO idea what I'm doing with form/rep scheme so any advice would be appreciated. I took a form check for that as well.
