Deadlift Socks?

I tried shin pads but they are annoying because they add a couple inches to the front of ur shin. Also my shins were still bruised to death. (im the same xtrainer i dont really feel the damage from years of football but i wake up and my shins have got these long brusies down the middle)
 
if your doing MMA i would use shin guards, it sucks bleeding though GI's and on Thai Pads.
 
Like gold said, shin pads/guards move are sort of self-defeating: They move the bar farther away from the shins, and produce a less efficient pull.

Nobody enjoys rolling with the bloody/scabby guy. I've remember in Ian King's dead-lifting video he had rugby players shave and use baby powder on their shins...
