“If I’m being completely honest, I don’t know that I agree (with White). I think I’d let him fight. I think if he wants to fight, I’d let him fight because, for as much as mixed martial arts is a global sport and it’s a sport that everybody loves and we support people from all around the world, at the end of the day, when you’re fighting at the White House, you want American people that can win.”

“Imagine if we’re on the White House lawn and the Americans aren’t winning fights,” Cormier said on his YouTube channel. “And that could happen. When the opening line for McGregor vs. Chandler comes out, Chandler is going to be a pretty substantial underdog, as he should be. Even though Conor hasn’t fought forever, he’ll still be the favorite to beat Michael Chandler.”

“But if you put Jon Jones against Tom Aspinall for what everybody says, that Tom Aspinall is the guy to beat him, when that line opens, I bet Jon Jones is still going to be the favorite. He’ll be the favorite to beat Tom Aspinall. He’ll be the guy who’s the world champion, or at least was the world champion before he vacated his title and retired. He’ll still be the favorite to win that fight. I think you’ve got to let him fight.”

Sure thing... offer Jon 100k/100k to fight.

Take it or leave it dude.

He doesn't actually think that. He's just saying it hoping it helps to make it happen. He thinks Jon will lose and massaging Jon's ego / Dana's greed are the most guaranteed routes to making it happen.

Haha DC tryin' to play some mind games.

What a weird take. Chandler should if anything be the favourite against Conor and Tom/Jon is a far riskier fight to make because its more important and Jon has never lost. You want to risk having the American guy, the GOAT, who has never lost in his 17 year career, to lose for the first time, to a Brit, at the White House, and probably by early KO? great idea...

It should have been that at least the main and co-main were all American fights, if not the whole card. That way the American always wins.

Did he forget that Jonny Duck is too scared to fight Tom

UFC is Dying

DC still hoping to see Jones stiffened in the octagon lol. Like most of us.
DC luring Jones for a chance to see him spazm on the floor. You know he would be like:
<goldie>

The only way Jones is on the card is if Conor is not on the card. Jones will not co main at this stage of his career, at least I highly doubt he will.

I dont think Jones is reliable enough to count on for this. His behavior the past few years has been all over the place.
If this card goes forward, it should be sufficiently stacked for Jones's reliability not to be an issue because there should be at least two other main-event worthy fights on the card. Not that I'd give Jones a title shot, because his reliability as champion if he won would be a real issue.
