It makes the roster look shallow and the sport look desperate.

They should have done things properly.

Had DC won that it would be legit.

Now he's just some replacement that just got beat and manhandled a former WW.

The fact that you want to use the "former WW" thing is just reaching. I don't care if Rumble used to fight at flyweight. He is a LHW now. He is a big LHW who has been wrecking other LHWs. You wanna talk about Bush league, calling him a WW makes it look like you are talking him down to make Cormeir's win look less impressive than it really is. That same former LHW beat Gustafsson.

It doesn't make the division look shallow or weak. If this had happened to Mighty Mouse instead of Jones, and Cariaso was the one fighting for the vacant FLW title, you might have a point. But in this case, it's not like they were reaching deep into the bowels of the division. Just because Cormier lost to Jones, that doesn't make it look shallow that he is still the #2 LHW in the world.

You seem way to bent out of shape about this. It really doesn't seem like a big deal to me. When I see a LHW division without Jones, I see Cormier as one of the top LHWs. So him getting the shot really doesn't bother me. In reality, he is probably better than anyone else in the division aside from Jones. So if Jones isn't the champ, Cormier probably would be. So I can live with the 2nd best being champ while best is out. You would have rather watched Rumble/Bader with Cormier fighting the winner. To me, Cormier/Rumble with Bader fighting the winner serves the same purpose and likely has the same end result.
