DC got Rumble on short notice and he got the job done.

Aldo would never be that retarded to play wressler against a guy that could knock him the fuck out any time.

Hmmm, great point genius, it's definitely smarter to stand with a guy who can knock you the fuck out at any time, I definitely see why Aldo wouldn't be interested in doing to Conor what he's done to every other striker he's faced.

Last time he fought a very decent pure striker was Kenny Florian and he didn't try a single td.

Hmmm, another great point genius, it sure was odd that he didn't take down a "pure striker" who was secretly a noted grappling specialist who had 9/14 wins by submission.

The rest were wresslers/boxers like Frankie, Chad and his gameplan was obvious. As for Kz, Lamas and Hominick, he only took them down because he was practically toying with these guys that were far below his level.

His gameplan against wrestlers was to strike and his gameplan against strikers was to wrestle? Ok parrot boy, anything else I said you want to chirp back at me?

Also good luck betting on Aldo taking MC Gregor down and keeping him there, fact is that even if he landed a takedown he would hardly cause any damage.

Not sure how you failed to notice that Aldo has some of the best top control in the entire sport. Peers like Mendes, Faber, Edgar and Gray Maynard have all commented on it. You sure you've been paying attention?

Keeping it standing, punching, kicking and kneeing are his bread and butter, why change things now?

Being an MMA fighter is his bread and butter. Like we already agreed above when you agreed with me that he takes down strikers. If he was going to "change things now" he'd be planning not to take Conor down.

Everybody knows that if Conor and Aldo fight it will be a stand up war, no other way around. You live in Narnia if you believe that he's gonna go out there and try to take him down like an idiot. He would get ktfo.

How the fuck have you been a fan of the sport for this long and you still fail so miserably to understand how the best fighter on the planet operates?

ZOMGOSHHHH Conor revolutionized attacking the body!!!!

1 hook kick + 3 jabs to the body = completely deplete an elite fighters gas tank

Move over Pro Boxers and MT specialists, youve been doing it all wrong:icon_chee

LOL ....

Come on man, you didn't feel like them kicks hurt? He was attacking that gut badly. Also you overlook how accuracy makes a difference, and you cannot deny that Conor can have a lot of holes in his game, but his accuracy is a thing of beauty.

They hurt I'm sure, and they wear fighters down, but they do not have some magic gassing effect. There is a century of boxing and that never ever happens. Ali went three fifteen round fights eating joe Frasier body punches and he did not gas. It's just not a thing.

I can't believe the fools here who think Chad "gassed" in 1 round. Did you see his face at the start of the second? These are the same dudes who would put $ on Chad beating Conor before the fight. Now Mendes gassed in less than 2?

GTFO. We all saw what happened. Chad got eating alive on the feet and as soon as it went there again it was over. Conor almost dropped him in the first. Conor still stuffed some TD'S and half you fools though UFC would never do that figh . Honestly, the flip flop after the loss is annoying. If what you though ended up being a turd at least stand behind your turd.

How did I know by the title thread that this was going to somehow come back to Chad Mendes?! Some of y'all are getting predictable...

I fell for it too. But at least the TS has an av worth peeking at. Nothing he ever says is worth reading, but that av....

Heavy breathing, hands down, not moving, means a person is gassed. That's just what happened, sorry.

Yeah because those symptoms dont mean "hurt" either. So you believe Chad "gassed" in 1 round?

No they absolutely don't mean hurt. Are you that ignorant to combat sports? Favoring, wincing, and backpedaling are symptoms of being hurt. Chad was gassed.

Lol..wincing? BTW chad was backpedaling after every strike.

Gassed my ass. If Chad was in there with Cub he wouldn't have "gassed".

Anyone can beat Rumble on short notice. He has an easy formula to solve, just get him on the ground and you win because his ground game is non existent.

Two different situations and two different people. Maybe dan trains harder more often? Who knows all the circumstances that surrounded each fighter. Not a good idea to assume.

the only thing more annoying then the Mendes excuses is 15 threads analyzing them...

I'm confused. What is this thread about exactly?

Not really the same thing cause Cormier was already in full camp for the Bader fight.

yeah right and Mendes was eating chips playing ps laying on his couch for 3 months. Take his words for granted not mine, what did he say? he said he was training, staying in shape all the time. Conor had his own issues too, people trash him saying ''oh his tdd sucked'' well, guess what? he didnt have to train any tdd to fight a guy like Aldo. So if people are going to give the guy the benefit of the doubt for having ''2 weeks'' of training, they might as well admit that Conor had a LOT to lose had he lost that fight. And he had to switch gameplans and work on dat tdd for only 2 weeks as well.

No, he didn't. He actually admitted that he was just hyping the fight, he's not going to come out and say I'm out of shape. But now that Chad denied what you said, he's probably bitter and lying. Only works when it supports your point

why take a fight on two weeks notice when if you lose you can't let go of the "took the fight on two weeks notice" excuse?

the $$$ helps, tanks Conor

Chad took this fight for the money ( half a million dollar guaranteed payday ) more than than for the belt

- DC was getting ready for a fight.

- Mendes had roughly 18 days to train, which is an entire week less.

- Mendes was on vacation when he got the call. Nowhere near training camp shape let alone fight shape.

Cody McKenzie,Yaotzin Meza,Darren Elkins,Clay Guida & Nik Lentz can all make excuses of losing to Chad on taking the fight on 2 weeks or week notices. Chad needs to stop bitching when most of his UFC wins came from fighters taking fights on short notices
