Dave Sholler leaving the UFC

I never really worked out what Dave Scholler did, apart from stand there at weigh ins

I cannot fathom you know as much as you do about sports and don't acknowledge that PR / communications is a thing.

In an average month, how many communiques do you think get baked up at the UFC? How many interactions with media?

He was the VP in charge of that.

I want to know what he's thinking at that exact moment.

the whole thing was probably some scripted fight promotion bollocks, he's probably thinking "lol people will think i stood up to jones and i might get one of those blow jobs"

Coming up next: Goldie and Rogan....hopefully

That would bum me out.

Rogan is imperfect but he's the GOAT commentator in my mind.

Goldie is a goofball but his nonsense is both entertaining and endearing. I actually look forward to him saying zany things and the awkwardness of Joe correcting him.

I am not saying they are going to fire him. But he would probably want to cash out his share. It also explains why they are making certain short term decisions.

He already did cash out his share.

IMG required Dana to stay on for the deal to go through - as was widely reported.

So he now enjoys a big salary and revenue sharing, not stock. He doesn't have anything to cash out, he's already done that. Now he's just getting tens of millions for continuing to do his job, risk free.

Gotcha & I can see that
But I think it has less to do with "new owners" & more to do with burning & cashing out

I want to see a picture comparison of him and Jon Anik. They are identical

because he doesn't think that it will fit in him.

He still has an ownership stake
It is less then he had though
I think Meltzer said 7%

Never liked him for some reason.

Agreed. I reckon Anik (L) and Sholler (R)... Never seen the baller in the middle before though.

I think he has a % of profit over the next 5 yrs, not a ownership stake

He has both
This was when the deal was reported:
“According to persons familiar with the deal, Lorenzo Fertitta will remain as chairman of UFC for 6-8 weeks during the transition but will step down after that. UFC president Dana White, who currently owns 9% of the organization, will continue in his role with UFC and will have a smaller ownership stake.”

Recently Meltzer said (I think) it was 7%
He is not pulling a salary with WME though ... he gets a % of profits instead

I checked with Meltzer to see if I remembered correctly & he is a 7% owner of UFC

He cashed out his 9% & agreed to stay on in a separate deal if they gave him 7% ownership

Told you when Silva "quit his job" few more months everyone is replaced. Demi lovato headlines next year.

He's taking a job with an NBA team. Apparently, with the way the sport is going, there are now less primadonnas to deal with in basketball.

Yo Frankie, whats up my dude!

I believe you are misunderstanding the nature of the deal. Previously Dana owned stock in the company. He now (according to virtually all reports including ESPN and MMAFighting) has a revenue share deal based on 9% of future profits.

eg.
Morning Report: Dana White's deal with new UFC ownership pays him 9% of future profits

"Sources tell ESPN that White's new deal is for five years and for nine percent of the company's net profits. The deal also gives White incentive to further grow the business instead of having a locked-in salary."

Yo ... he also received a 7% stake.
I confirmed it with Meltzer (see attachment)
He discussed this about a month ago on his audio

He cashed out his 9% (of the sale) & agreed to stay on if they gave him 7% of the "new" UFC & his salary of 9%

The link you gave actually said
It was not immediately known if White is retaining any percentage of the new company."

Meltzer confirmed that he did a month ago

I saw your attachment but 'Yes' to what can be an ambiguous question (revenue share -vs- issued stock over twitter) doesn't count.

Produce a source that confirms this and I'll change my mind... for now I'm sticking with the officially filed reports by ESPN and MMAFighting which specify Dana is now in a 9% revenue share deal.

I don't care if you change your mind (or not) lol
It was not "ambiguous" & two completely different figures of 7 & 9%

Your link actually stated they did not know if Dana had a stake in the company - that was on July 13th
In Sept Meltzer said it did & confirmed it today
