Television DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN (Premieres March 4, 2025)

Now Bullseye gets to spend his days in the chow line… breathing the same air as you? How’s that feel? - Frank

HE GOT LIFE! - Matt

How bout ol’ Foggy? Did he get life? - Frank
He looks so harried and sweaty, like a caged addict. Bernthal is so incredible in the role. All the little mannerisms, the physical tics. You can watch that scene and see someone who is eating their own torture. No hope, no satisfaction. Just pure wrath and it's not made to look cool, but instead... unwell. He has it dialed in. Nobody should see Frank Castle and want to be him.

This is my favorite part of how he plays him. He leans into the fact that Frank is a distinctly unwell human being. He has flashes of humanity but he is addicted to his war and it’s consuming him.

This. So much fucking this. The Punisher is NOT a Superhero. He's not someone to aspire to. And Castle himself would be the first to tell you this. That was a central theme of Ennis' Punisher MAX run. Frank truly did love his family, but he loved the adrenalin rush of combat perhaps even more.

In the very first issue of Punisher MAX, Castle ambushes dozens of Wiseguys using an M60. He slaughters them all. We get a close up of his face: blank, calm, completely void of emotion.

Castle, "And only now, pouring automatic fire into a human wall...do I feel something like peace".

This scene reminded me of others in the previous series, specifically when it would cut to him sort of freaking out inside his own head. But this time it was external. We get a lot of anger and so forth, but I don't recall any other scene quite like this where he just looks like, well, like he needs a fix. And I can imagine that's what he is like all the time when he isn't out there shooting people. The longer he sits in some room plotting, the more he sweats and paces and bangs his head into a wall as the craving ramps up

He's a combat junkie. Add to that the guilt he feels over failing to protect his family,

"Every time I stop moving, I see my little boy. I hear his voice"

And you have a man who can only find peace in the heart of war.

The acting is great, but I agree they need to pick up the pace. You've got Punisher in a show and he hasn't killed anyone on screen by nearly the half way mark? Unacceptable.
I don't necessarily need Punisher to kill people, but have a stern talking to come to Jesus talk with bad guys and if they get sassy, open a can of Whoop Ass. Also acceptable if half the episode is Karen having sexual relations with Punisher with multiple angles and slow mo and good lighting.

I read a bit of an article about Season 2 rumored to have Shadowlands black suit DD possessed by the Hand's deity Fist of the Hand or something.

I too am a little disappointed.

I enjoyed the courtroom episode a lot. But I expected an action filled episode to happen next and....nothing.

Now my expectations are high for the next one.

Yeah they're not following the born again storyline at all.

They shouldn't use that title then.

I wanted to watch daredevil, not Matt-lock

I can't imagine how little action there was in the version they scrapped, if this is the upgraded version.
Theres a comic book Born Again storyline? If that's what this hasnt been, then what was it? It's not really spoiling anything if it's not it, right?

Short version, Karen is an addict and turning tricks, Kingpin mayor, Karen gives up Matt's identity to Kingpin for a fix.

Wilson and Matt already know who each other are in showverse so alot of that identity based plot just doesn't work.
