Fili had a TDD of 69% going into that bout, which is actually pretty damn good considering Fili has been in the UFC for seven years now. He trains with some high-level wrestlers on a daily basis at Team Alpha Male and yet Mitchell was able to take him down practically at will. Yes, Fili was able to scramble away from some of them... and some of the ones he scrambled away only resulted in quick mat returns. In addition, Bryce also looked much sharper in the standup than I expected and was really sneaking those shots in there (presumably because of the takedown threat).
Don't get me wrong, there were elements of Mitchell's performance I wasn't pleased with. He got caught up in a firefight in the second round (which he should have lost, two of those judges were crazy) and got touched up. He also didn't show all that much aggression on the ground until the very end of the fight in terms of either GnP or submission attempts. Still, overall a solid performance from him and nothing derail-worthy to see here.
