Nice sqwat, legio. Didn't look like a max attempt.

Congrats!

Wish I could see the vids at work.
Nice going on the PR apparently it looked good!

Awesome intensity. Great squat, looked easy. Congrats

Great squat. Hardly slowed down really.

How are you finding low bar? I'm particularly curious how the depth works for you, given that you are a former Oly lifter. Are you actively cutting them off at parallel, or does the forward lean naturally prevent you going any lower? Does it feel weird? When I moved from cutting off my squats to using full ROM and getting a little stretch reflex, it changed the feeling so much, despite only being a few extra inches- so much faster and more explosive, and also so much more potential for things to go wrong because it felt like lots of things were happening in rapid sequence. So I am curious how it feels to go in the other direction.

Congrats on the PR!

Thank you sir!

Bitchin squat PR. You had more in you for sure.

It definitely felt like there was more in the tank. Happy to leave it and hit something bigger later though for sure. And thanks!

Well, it felt good. Damn good.

Hate-death-rage is my MO. Thanks man.

Well at first LB felt quite odd and trying to sit back and not down was weird.
However I found it became quite comfortable in about a week and a half. A lot of that I feel is thanks to the loads and loads of reps you get in on Sheiko. Tons of practice at light weights.

Yes I feel as if though the bar position and change in cues are determining my depth. If I forced it I could likely get a bit more but right now I'm hitting a pretty comfortable rebound spot that's pretty consistent both with and without wraps.

Overall I'm quite happy with LB thusfar. I have found that my rack position is much more comfortable if I wear a nice thick shirt. If I lock it in well even top end weights feel quite light.

"Fuck you mother fucker!"

Lol, awesome PR man. congrats.

Many thanks man. It felt great. I'm a vocal person, what can I say. I should have left in the approach as well. All sorts of silly shit.

I'm normally a fan of intensity, but I think I prefer the bench celebration.

I was still in a good mood from squatting. Dunno where that came from...

Big lulz on both. Congrats on the big squat also.

Happy to entertain. Thanks man!

Love your intensity under the bar. Good liftin', team leader.

I don't know how to not be intense. Much appreciated man.

1st, 3rd, 5th sets:

---Long grinding day today. Very physical day at work. Came in beat up. Didn't get started until after eight and went until midnight. I'm fuckin tired.

--Pulls felt okay all things considered. Hands were tolerable until the last set of the 405's. Hence the straps on 435's. Should be getting paid tomorrow. Going to get some ultra moisturizing stuff and a pumice stone to get these ridiculous callouses down. I could feel the damn things with the straps. It's excessively stupid.

--Benching felt a little better. Seemed to be in more of a groove.

--So tonight I was dragging pretty hard and really wanted to back off or even split the rest of the work up for tomorrow. Instead I wrote my year-end goals for my lifts on my forearm and that kept me pretty motivated for the rest of the night.

Friday

185 1x5
225 5x3(belt, no wraps)

Cambered Bar GM
+70 5x5

DB Flye:
25/ea 5x10

Lat Pull Down:
150 5x6

Rev Flye:
15/ea 5x12

---Benching felt strong so I pushed a bit. The TnG at the beginning of that set was for no apparent reason. Planned on pausing and just sort of spaced out. Everything felt good.

--Pretty tired at the end. Looking forward to two days off.

There is a very convenient meet coming up here May 18th. Thinking about doing it but being very conservative just to get a PL meet knocked out as I've been to Strongman and Olympics meet but not PL.

If my gym owner will front the entry fee and travel I think I might try to knock it out.

Do it, for sure. Would be awesome to get your gym owner to pay for it as well. What would they want in return? Some advertisement?

Dooooo it! My next meet is the same day.

They're very generous and kind people so they'd probably cover it just for the entertainment of driving down and watching. Of course they can use any good performance as positive fluff for the gym. Doesn't bother me and average Joe's love that shit.

Well then clearly the gods of strength have willed it! Haha

It'll mostly hinge on them being okay with covering my expenses. I just don't have the cash right now. Entry is 75$ plus gas there and back twice being about 60$.

Other than that it'd just be a matter of what program to use leading up to the meet.

I have two weeks left of #30 so the 19th of April would wrap that up. Which would leave me 4 weeks including the week of the meet.

Soooo....would have to figure that out.

I wouldn't be terribly concerned with hitting any PR's or anything impressive. Just to go 9/9 and start developing comfort with the PL meet-style given that it's a little different from Olympic meets.

I'd call it a good day if I made 65 the day prior and hit 92% on all my lifts.

I hear ya. Meets are expensive. I'm financially stable now, but when I wasn't, it was really hard for me to budget it in. However, I do think it is worth it!

As far as programming, I have no idea what to suggest. I have been using the same program as meet prep for a while now and I love it, but I don't know how to make it work in 4 weeks. I'm confused though, what program are you using now? And is there any way you can just repeat it increasing the weight or something?

I'm currently doing Sheiko programs. Right now I'm mid-way through number 30.

I guess I'll make sure they're okay with helping me out and then just see how beat up I feel in two weeks.

It's been moderately taxing thusfar but not terrible.

I'm not familiar with Sheiko at all so I have no idea what #30 is haha

So what your saying is you are currently running a cycle of Sheiko that will leave you with 4 weeks of no programming, right? You can count one week as a deload before the meet (if you plan on taking a deload) and then figure out something for the last three weeks.

We should start a fundraiser for you via PayPal lol Help Legio compete!!! :)

#32 is a meet peaking cycle.

I'm confused. What do the numbers mean??

EDIT: I'm trying to figure it out on my own and still can't find an answer. But Sheiko looks intense. Makes me want to try it!
